We are going to be in NYC this weekend. We need tickets for a Saturday matinee, and are planning to buy tickets at the TKTS booth. Would it be better for us to go to South St. Seaport on Friday to purchase the tickets, or just go to the Times Sq. booth Saturday morning? Do the booths have different tickets? Or is it like Ticket Master outlets, where they print out the tickets after you purchase them? If they have different tickets, which booth is better to go to? If the same tickets are available at either booth, doesn't it make sense to go to the Seaport since you can buy them Friday? We really do not know how this works.
Thanks for all your help.
go to the seaport its worth the trip

I believe the tickets are the same at each booth, but the lines at the Seaport are much, much shorter.
Also if you go to the Seaport on friday evening you get in ahead of the Saturday crowds so definitely go there
i would DEFINITELY go to the seaport on Friday for Saturday's matinee. WORTH the trip and you don't waste 1/2 a day waiting on line.

If you want to be able to buy a ticket for the Saturday afternoon performance in advance as well as your ticket for the Friday night then I would suggest going to The Seaport. Besides, it is a fun area of the city to walk around in. If it weren't for the fact that the Seaport TKTS booth is so out of my way, I would go there more often. But, considering that when I do go into the city I am coming in via Penn Station the closet TKTS booth for me is the one in Times Square.
Seaport is faster, Times Square is more convenient.
If you don't have plans on Friday, why not just go to Seaport? Then you can make a little side trip out of it.
If you do go to Seaport, dress warmly. At this time of year, the wind off the East River can be brutal.
And it'll give you a chance to check out bargains at Century 21.
I love that store! I got my red penguin hat there :)
I have a feeling the one in Times Square might have more shows. I was at the seaport location this past Friday, and not many shows were listed for the Saturday matinee. I am not sure though.
Have any of you guys ever been to the Brooklyn location? I would assume that the Brooklyn location will have the fewest amount of people of the three booths.

Forget tkts; just go to broadwaybox.com~! I always get amazing seats and the deals are great!
I agree with Deena actually...check for various discounts on sites such as Theatermania, BroadwayBox, and Playbill. The tickets may be slightly more expensive than TKTS (or not), but you have your tickets in advance, and you can be more choosy about where you want to sit.
