Do you think that I would have any problem getting a student rush ticket for August tonight?

Posted: 6/27/09 at 2:55pmI was just wondering if I might have a problem getting a student rush ticket for August for tonight. I don't know if they have been harder to get since A they moved to the Music Box. and B since it is closing tomorrow. Last time I even tried and got a student rush ticket for the show was back when they were at The Imperial and I got it as they were letting people in and right before they stopped selling tickets to that particular performance.

Posted: 6/27/09 at 3:03pmHow do you know for sure. It wasn't as if I said what time I planned to arrive at the box office or anything like that. I am just wondering what information your basing your post on?

Posted: 6/27/09 at 3:24pmThere have been reports that you need to get there before the box office opens this week to get a ticket and that they aren't selling any other seats as rush besides the allotted amount already set aside.

They are brazen and rude at that box office. They act like you are asking them to loan you 50 bucks when you ask for a student rush ticket, and that was before the closing was announced and Phylicia came into the show.
TRUST ME. Go to Google and type in 'August Osage County discount codes' and you will see the Broadway Box.com link for discount codes. Either print out the Web page and go to the box office or go to www.broadwayoffers.com and paste the code in and USSSSEEEEE ITT!! Okay? This show is closing, and there is nothing like Phylicia in this role. She is absolutely unforgettable. It is worth paying FULL PRICE for, and CERTAINLY discounted. There isn't A BAD SEAT in the venue.
Is that helpful enough? :)

I saw the show on Wednesday, and I got to the box office at about 12:15 (after losing the HAIR lotto). When I got there, they had a sign on the window that said "No more student tickets today". I was able to get a ticket in Mezz Row B using the broadwaybox.com code, for $59.50 ($30 more than rush tickets).
So, I would recommend getting to the box office early if you really want a ticket. And take the discount with you just to be safe.
