Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

And Dodd is only there for a short time, correct?

How wonderful! Marcie is a fabulous singer and actress. I actually saw Alex Brightman in The History Boys in LA...he played Posner, he was very good! He's adorable and a sweetheart, too.

Also, when did Timothy Britten Parker join the Bway cast? He was in LA for the longest time.

Can't wait to see Alli Mauzey perform again! I loved her in CB...I can't wait to see her take on Galinda.

anyone else find it amusing that the "and more" is one more person? would it have been so hard to put "and Brightman"

Mauzey was the ONLY stand out performer in CRY BABY. Glad to see her getting a chance to fully show her stuff here.

And Dodd is a very strong Elphaba.

Looks like it's shaping up to be a pretty damn good cast!

I like Marcie Dodd. She's got a strong, killer voice but I'm really sick if these uber-girlie sounding belters who would be more comfortable as Glinda. Elphaba, to me, should sound like the polar opposite to Glinda in addition to being the opposite.

But, it appeals to the young crowds, same with making most Glindas a caricature of a blonde whackjob. I said MOST, I'm not including any Glindas capable of a standout performance that I haven't seen.

I just don't care for the (pardon the Oz-speak) Disney-fication of Wicked.

Except that the title says 11/11 and Brightman starts 11/4.

Marcie is only there through January 11th. Speculation seems to be that she will be heading up the new national tour, and she's doing this short Broadway stint so that she can be advertised as "direct from Broadway." Nicole Parker is rumored to be the new Elphaba in January.

Aaron Tveit told us at the stage door he was returning on January 21. However, seeing as how that's a Wednesday, I wonder if he maybe meant the 20th.

Cristy returns sometime in February. Maybe the 4th? DefyGravity777 would know that date...

Adamgreer, I'm not sure on Cristy's return date. I think it's the 2nd week in Feb. which would be the 10th.

Ironically Julie Reiber is an uber-girlie sounding belter but one of the best Elphie's there is IMO. I also don't think she would make a good Glinda.

You know, I saw Kevin Kern on for Stephen Lynch in The Wedding Singer, and he was actually pretty good. He'll make a great Fiyero.
