Anyone know?

Also, does anyone know if the musical numbers are the same on Broadway? Anything cut?
Yes...it's in the tour. The tour features the final Broadway version of the show (with the added "America" number).
THanks! I'm thrilled. I'm going tongiht and probably this weekend too!!!! I"M SO FREAKING EXCITED!
Such an amazing show! Enjoy!
I'm sure I will. WHen I was 15 my parents chose for us to see Phantom over Kiss of the Spider Woman. I'll never forgive them.

Only on this board. Love it!
Lol. True story! I clearly wasn't a normal child.

Who is playing Chita on the tour?
I was the same way. I got mad at my mom because she chose to attend the performance of Beauty & the Beast that had to restart during the prologue due to technical difficulties. Like it was her fault or something. :-/
I blame my Mother for all technical difficulties.
Yep, America is there. But there ARE differences from the Broadway version. DON'T AH MA ME, and WHERE YOU ARE are cut. The latter most likely cut because of the physical strain.
The "young Chita" role is completely gone, and it's much better. ALL THAT JAZZ is performed as it should be, Chita and the ensemble. Also some of her stories were shortened.
Overall, it's still very entertaining, and Chita is thrilling.

I don't know about everyone else, but those 2 songs being cut would piss me off, even with the inclusion of America, which I did not see in the Broadway run.
^ It wasn't really that bad without those 2 numbers, considering every number is truncated for the show.
But we have to consider Chita's physical health. Touring can be a lot on anyone. Especially at her age they have to be careful. So it's understanding why they cut WHERE YOU ARE.

I definitely agree, but when I saw the show Where You Are was in the top 3 of most anticipated numbers for me. Unfortunate that it is gone now, but understandable.
Is there a current cast list? The website hasn't been updated. Who is dancing with Chita-I'd love to know. Also, I loved the little Chita aspect in the Broadway production-sorry it has been eliminated.
Seeing this show was as intimate as sitting and talking to her one on one while having a cup fo coffee with her. She's wonderful - everything about her exudes charm, class, and warmth. This was a theatrical experience I'll never forget.

I agree WickedGeek. I actually knew very little about Chita and wasnt a fan when I saw the show on Broadway. I was lucky to get third row center and everytime she sat down to tell an anecdote I felt her spirit. I left the theatre enamoured with her. I am glad to see her again in Buffalo. The fact she is touring this show speaks volumes about who she is. She didn't need to do it, but she did for her fans. She is the last of dying breed. A veteran Broadway trooper.
Wow, I didn't realize all the changes that took place. I kinda liked the young chita event though it was very surfacing anyways. Oh and bobbybubby, I'm the same as you! I still haven't forgiven my parents for taking me to Phantom instead of Gypsy. Granted, I managed to see the show six times anyways but it was a waste of time!
I saw it last night! It was amazing. SHe held the audience in the palm of her hand. She was in great voice, danced her best, and made me cry more than once. When she said "I'm doing this for that one person, with their eyes wide and mouth open". I just couldn't stop sobbing for some reason. She was just great, though, the opening audience, mostly big wigs, didn't seem to fully know who she was. Still, she won them over. The Choreographer sequence was my favorite, along with "Chief Cook", "Kiss of the Spider Woman", "America", all the new songs (which I think are quite good), and her genius "All that Jazz" and touching "duet" with Verdon. What a night! It was snowing when I left the theatre, so I didn't stage door it. I may go back Sat or Sun. Does anyone know if she comes out to the stage door after a matinee?
During her broadway run I know she didn't come out during matinees but my friends waited around and ended up being nvited inside to wait for her. She eventually came down and took pictures and autographed.
