Well...yeah, we can't understand the horrendous lyrics, so yeah it looks pretty amazing.
And the girls are gorgeous :)

Posted: 6/2/08 at 8:49pmThe only thing that looks different in this production in relation to any other is the fact that there are Asian people, it's nothing special Wicked-wise.

Posted: 6/2/08 at 8:53pmTo be fair, the rights aren't released so all these productions will have the Mantello staging, the awful Wayne Cilento choreography, the same great costumes and sets, and most unfortunate of all, the crappy Winnie Holzman book.

I really like the Tokyo orchestrations. I like the US/German/UK (Does UK have their own?), but it's really nice to have a new set once in a while. Will Australia or the Netherlands have new orchestrations. I can not wait until the Dutch recording. Danny de Munk would be really good as Fiyero and Willemijn should definitely do Elphaba in Amsterdam.
Also, I love the Tokyo translations.

I don't like you.
And, for the record, this OP has permanently been LuPwned so it doesn't really matter.

While I don't agree with your subject line, the trailer gave me major goosebumps. Thanks for sharing. :)

Why does the show somehow look better with Asian people in it? Haha. Very attractive cast.
Well, if they ever cast Lea Salonga as Elphaba, she certainly wouldn't be screaming the songs. Julia didn't scream either. She just did that freaky Julia belting thing, which is better than screaming I guess.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 12:28amTooDarnHot, why always needlessly rude regardless of the subject? Backstory? Either way, there really is no excuse. Musicaltheatrefan3, you love your Wicked, and that's just fine! Usually, I wouldn't pay much attention to a Wicked trailer, but it does look surprisingly cool! Updated On: 6/3/08 at 12:28 AM

She screeches the last note in Defying Gravity. There are proper ways to sing that song that don't damage your voice. e.g. Stephanie J. Block of yeah, Lea Salonga too.
It looks interesting, to say the least. I always think it's fun when they translate musicals haha.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 8:40amproduction wise there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DIFFERENT so I dont see what ll the fus is about, and compared to other Japanese cast recordings, I dont think those 2 gals can sing as good as I would have expected of a Japan cast (where singing usually stands out)
