Has anyone ever seen, a Dollywood show? Either regular season or Christmas Season?

Very odd question for the Broadway board, but yes I have seen some shows in the past (not christmas season). They're cute and entertaining, but it's definitely theme park entertainment. Their shows in the Spring (Festival of Nations) are far superior to any of their other shows. If on not mistaken, their shows during the Festival of Nations are actually tour companies and NOT actual Dollywood productions.

I don't think its an odd question if an actor is considering auditioning.

I used to go to Dollywood yearly, so I have seen many of the shows. I think they are a fair amount better than your average theme park shows with higher production values and usually live musicians (not canned music). Dolly Parton is a musician and the park started out as a more of music park and a place where craftspeople made their wares.
Its not glamourous by any means but if you are starting out it would be a good way to cut your teeth on getting used to the grind of performing.

Hey Allison Case played Nemo in a theme park show, so its clearly a way to pay your dues.

I grew up near Dollywood and went several times a year as a kid. I always found the shows too cheesy as a child, but as an adult I have appreciated the mostly live music and have seen some great singers.

Is Christmas in the Smokies still being performed? Wow. I had a cassette of it when I was little and listened to it a lot. It's a straight forward Christmas show. No real plot, just an ensemble that sing various traditional Christmas songs, some secular, some very very religious. It's like Radio City without the Rockettes or heavy and expensive production values.

9 to 5 isn't a dollywood show. and Yes Christmas in the Smokies is still being performed it's all over youtube...
