Don't forget: Patti LuPone on The View tomorrow morning..

Patti LuPone will be performing on The View tomorrow morning. I hope it will be an interview and performance. Anyone know what she will be performing? I think she should do SOME PEOPLE.

Don't miss it.

I wish I could see it.

"Some People" would be nice, but I think she could get away with "Everything's Coming Up Roses." It was stronger than "Some People" when I saw it.
Some people paint, some people sew, I meddle.

If, at this point, they know she is not going to do "Rose's Turn" at the Tonys - then she should do this on THE VIEW tomorrow.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

It's actually illegal in the United States to perform Rose's Turn before noon.

well then good thing The View is at 11, ahmelie.

I'm actually looking forward more to an interview with her than her performance.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

but The View LOVES opinionated middle aged ladies! she's the perfect candidate for an interview.

I think she'd be a fantastic guest host, she'd be hysterical with those ladies.

when Gypsy closes, she should get her own talk show.

re: Don't forget: Patti LuPone on The View tomorrow morning..

even though we all want to see her do Rose's Turn, I think it's a little heavy for "the view's" audience, especially considering the vast majority don't know what Gypsy even is. "You'll Never Get Away From Me' would probably get a better response, but watevs.

I'm tired of this Gypsy nonsense. she should sing "Find Me a Primitive Man". =P

As much as I loved her Rose's Turn live, I don't think I'd want to see it on tv. It's just so much more powerful within the context of the show. Rose's Turn is more about the emotion than Together Where Ever We Go, or Some People which are nicely performed out of the context of the show. I feel like people would misinterpret Rose's Turn and think it's just a crazy woman yelling on stage when there really is so much more behind it.

Ooh.
What time is The View on? (Haha, sorry, I've never seen it.)
edit - someone said 11? NY time?

Dearest, how can this be so? You were dead, you know. - Candide

Oh my god, this show has everything! Half naked guys and girl on girl action! - [title of show]

Yes. she is a half step down from the vocal score. She is using Tyne Daly's keys. And she has said these keys are the reason the songs are not demanding for her and she is able to keep her voice strong.

A half step is not a big deal. Angela Lansbury sang it drastically lower.
