...is Patti's version transposed down a half step?
I thought she was the queen of the "if you can't sing it in the original key, don't sing it at all?" mentality...

Yes. she is a half step down from the vocal score. She is using Tyne Daly's keys. And she has said these keys are the reason the songs are not demanding for her and she is able to keep her voice strong.
A half step is not a big deal. Angela Lansbury sang it drastically lower.

That's not the wrong note. I think it's written in the vocal score. And with the key she's in, she is belting a high C with that note. Which is the equivalent to Merman's ending notes in 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' and 'Rose's Turn.'
Angela Lansbury took the higher note too (in London I believe). Though she was in much lower keys.
And I told you all she would be doing SOME PEOPLE. I knew it.
