I think he writes all the crazy and outragous stuff to see if anone actually reads it.
Back when he and Michael Arden were at the Chatterbox, I told him how much I loved his entries. He was really surprised that people were reading them.

And in person, John Hill has always been unbelievably funny and friendly. For me, his journal entries have always been an extension of that.
But if people don't get him, they don't get him. It's hard to justify why you find something funny or not.

Posted: 3/24/05 at 1:44amI absolutely agree with you. He seems to be such a genuine and caring guy. One thing I noticed about him immediately was how easy he was to talk to. And he was so affectionate too. That threw me off a bit. And of course, he's hysterical.

Posted: 3/24/05 at 1:49amI was there that night at Chatterbox too Chrysanthemum and he is so nice. I'm not sure where the John animosity is coming from since in person, he's just such a sweetheart!

This is what makes JHill brilliant! his humor is so far out there and above most peoples heads they dont even get it....(apparently)...you are taking this way too seriously and seem to be jumping to some conclusions about him because of personal issues...as for the Tsunami comments...if you cant laugh at the world how do you live in it??? it was horrible but it was blown way out of proportion! the media and celebrity of this country love to make a buck off good publicity! so you need to lay off this hillarious friend of mine and let him be weird if he wants!!!!!

1. I'd venture to say that few to none of you know this man well enough to commentate on his personality. Stage door/message board/online journal/whatever. You're not his friend. You never will be. Stop trying to act like you know more than you do. Reality may be a sucky place to live, but we've all got to go there sooner or later. May as well be now.
2. Are you people who are bitching about this for real? Seriously. Who CARES? It's obviously a joke. And even if it's not, WHO CARES? People sell ghosts on ebay these days. If you don't like it, don't send him money. But getting your feathers all ruffled because some dude set up a fund for himself is more than a little sad.

I really shouldn't let some ignorant f*ck to get to me like this, but to Boots04:
OK. I said this earlier in the thread, in my first post. I didn't find John's tsunami comment offensive. I also think the whole hysteria over his donation link is stupid.
But your comment above I take issue with. HE was being funny, you weren't. What the hell did you mean that it was "blown way out of proportion"?!?! I live in the affected region; I saw the effects. I am helping with displaced people right now. Sure we can laugh at the world. But to call what happened as being blown out of proportion is repugnant.

Well, Boots04, I sure hope John is ashamed to have friends like you. To say something like the Tsunami was blown out of proportion is the most stupid thing I have ever read on this board, and I have read a lot of bull**** on here.
I can only hope that you didn't really mean this stupid comment and just tried to cause a stir. Still makes you one of the most pathetic twats ever on this board.
The Tsunami blown out of proportion, you gotta be F*CKING kidding me.

Posted: 3/25/05 at 12:28amnote to john hill: keep that bizarre little sense of humnor to yourself and your little circle of intimates. 90% of folks have no clue what your humor is all about. enuff john. shut thy mouth and just perform. sheesh!

Posted: 3/25/05 at 12:35amVirgil. What pearls of wisdom. You should probably take the same advice though. No one is making anyone read John's Journal and I'm surprised at the amount of hoopla and action this thread is getting over someone's online journal. Yes, he's a performer and more in the public eye, but everyone is acting as if they know him personally and he peed in your cheerios.

Hey, I'll gladly take my advice (and often do) if HE will.

The stuff are up on his personal site; it's not like he posts his entries on here.
but everyone is acting as if they know him personally and he peed in your cheerios.
Thanks for that, Jeff.

Posted: 3/25/05 at 11:38amwell....as this was the first time ive ever posted on this thing i have to say you guys are a tough crowd!! I never thought i would get my a*# kicked like that after defending a friend.....my tsunami comment was not meant to make a stir or make a horrible event seem unworthy of attention or concern!!....my comment had to do with the way america handled it....apparently i didnt explain myself very well..since my main objective was to defend the jhill.....this just goes to show how these message boards are their own world that have their own ways....

And I'm curious. How should it have been handled, boots? And how do you know that the way america handled it was "out of proportion"? Come over sometime; I'll take you on a little tour.
Okay -- done threadjacking. Everyone can go back to kicking John Hill's ass now.

Thank you, Amasis. I was wondering the same thing. How can efforts be 'blown our of proportion'?
And NOW back to kicking John's ass.
