For what show? Picasso at the Lapin Agile or did i Miss something?
This is the worst stunt casting in ages. Donny Osmond is a talented guy, but he's shy, still gets stage fright, and is fairly unassuming. He's not the larger than life, egomaniac for Gaston.

Ha, are you serious? Somehow I just can't picture him in this role.
...how scary is it that I CAN picture him in the role?
He's on Larry King tonight. King asked him if he'd like to do Broadway and he said there was "something brewing" but he couldn't talk about it.
He also said that years ago ALW offered him the role of the Phantom and he turned it down because of a game show he was involved with. He said the invitation from ALW is still open.

I have seen some clips of Hugh Jackman in the Australian production of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ( and heard the Australian cast recording as well) - Hugh is no egomaniac either and he was excellent!
Donny has done the filmed stage production version of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT and I thought he was pretty good.

Donny Osmond? The Phantom? no.... uh-huh... yea no. I don't think I'm thinking of the same Donny Osmond.
Now, Don't get me wrong,I think he'd be fine for Broadway just not as these roles...I could see him more as Oscar in Sweet Charity.
I have to admit I am curious about this one. I guess if Jacob Young can play Lumiere (spelling?) then Donny can play Gaston.

I wonder if he'll be doing the show when La Swit takes over Belle?
But wait, didn't he just cancel a tour due to personal problems?
Donny has a good voice, but he's still DONNY OSMOND.
Gaston? HAHAHAHA!!!!!

Yet one more sign of the apocalypse.
Well, I guess it's a job.
Isn't La Swit to take on a new role in that show of the bidet?

I don't know who La Swit is but Loretta Swit as Belle would be an interesting casting choice. Robert Goulet could play Gaston.
Robert Goulet could play Gaston.
I think I just pulled a muscle laughing.
Jim, did you see him in South Pacific?! Bwaha!!

Hi Lizzie,
I did see him in "South Pacific" a few years ago at the Golden Gate. I remember his hair being very black. Then I saw him in "La Cage" in NY. He was pretty good in that. I remember reading he wanted to take it on tour but it never happened.

It was announced last night on the Insider (before Entertainment tonight) Marie and Donny announced it- that was my source.
Robert Goulet could play Gaston.
Now THAT I would pay money to see.
As for Donny Osmond.... yikes!
