Sure, RENT won't be performed on Broadway anymore, but it will live on. Of course it is incredibly sad and it will be missed, but its not dying. It will be remembered, performed, listened to, we still have the movie. So its really wrong they're saying that, just because it wont be on BROADWAY. And theres always hope for a revival :)
SO its not the END...
It is the end of an era, its Broadway era, its 12 year run in the same home.Thats what they mean by the end of an era
Like it was the end of an Era when Rent Remixed closed here in the UK last week......erm ok maybe that was an end of a nightmare
haha good one. but still, its not like its DEAD.
No of course its not, but i think its quite an honor to have the closure of the show to be called the end of an era
I feel so...enlightened. I just want to...smile... :)

End of an era doesn't mean dead. Dead means dead.

The only thing I hope to see die are the scars of the nevers and maybes.

I can't wait to see what the SPRING AWAKENING fans say. We all know it won't last nearly as long as RENT did.
What will they call it?
"The end of a fortnight?"
blaxx, are you being sarcastic or serious?
Well, I'll give the OP a break, she's what...12?

I'm so old that my original rent bootlegs were on THESE!
People, chill. I just said bootleg as an example if you read close enough. Or do your eyes just scan for things to call people on? Seriously. I didnt say anything about me owning or watching any bootlegs, now did I?
Blaxx etc how vile can you guys be???, your like social outcasts with bitchy attitudes in the making
Take no notice of them
I think "era" is a bit extreme to define the run of Rent. A little perspective please.
thanks, songanddanceman2 :)
The definiton of era does not contain a specific number of years. It's perfectly fine to call a 12 year run of a show an era.
