That's too bad. Thank goodness for the tour.
Oh no! I gotta see it one last time before it closes..
It's sad to see this brillant play leave Broadway. I can not wait for the tour!
I still haven't seen it, I will try to catch Cherry on tour.
Doubt was the best experience I've ever had in the theater. I might go see it with the new cast before it closes.

Oh No! What a sad thing for a play like this to go. I thought it would last for a long time. This was and still is one of my favorite shows playing now. What show do you think will transfer to the Walter Kerr when Doubt leaves?
I think it did last for a pretty long while. For a play it had a very healthy and successful run!
Sad news. It had a healthy run, though.

Such sad news! And I still haven't gotten a chance to see it... Anyone know if I can get rush tickets for the show before it closes (and if so, what kind of rush, how much, etc)????? Thanks!
Student rush, $20 or $25, I can't recall, sold one hour before the show. Balcony seats, high up, but fine if you sit up straight.
I'm so made Seattle isn't getting the tour with Jones. Our city was granted to rights for the first regional production, so Seattle Rep is doing it in September. Hope it's good...
maybe Adriane lennox will go on tour?? wishful thinking i would assume...

This is one of the best plays I've ever seen. I went to see it on a whim January 15th with the new cast minus Eileen Atkins who was ill with the flu that week. It was such an amazing experience.
I purchased a $25 Balcony seat at 12noon that day. It's the same seats that you get for student rush (if the show is sold out) so I figured, why risk not getting a seat an hour before the show? So, basically, balcony serves as both rush and tickets that can be ordered ahead of time, although they are ONLY available at the box office. The Balcony is great place to see the show. because there are only two rows up there it makes the show feel more intimate!

A long-playing drama is almost an oxymoron. Mary Zimmerman's "Metamorphoses" paid back its investors, was making money, but was still closed when the theater owners exercized an archaic clause in their contract with the producers.
Bad karma. They thought Helen hunt in a new play by a hot new playwright would fill more seats. The show closed in a few months.

It had a healthy run. I can't access Broadwayacrossamerica.com on this comp. - can someone post the touring cities? I really hope it is coming close by. I want to see it.
Too bad- it's always nice to see a long running play. However, I would have loved to have seen Pillowman still filling the Booth. That was an amazing show
I knew business would fall off after the leads left but not this much. A shame it is closing
We also saw Pillowman & while we throughly enjoyed Doubt we thought Pillowman to be the better of the 2 - Mull & Discuss

Helen Hunt's "Life X 3" was always a limited engagement and it managed to not only recoup its investment, but turn a modest profit.
I am seeing it Sunday, So I am really excited! Row G, Orch. Definitely will give my regards to the actors.

I don't think people should feel down. It had a good run, healthy run. And I'm sure it will have life in regional theater.
[Not to threadjack, but I was looking on the Doubt website which didn't have any dates listed for the tour, so I check The Road Company which is doing the tours, and they had a Wedding Singer poster up. So that mean it is touring, correct?]

FYI...I got student rush tickets ($21.25) an hour before the show (a while ago, with the original cast) and got seated in the first balcony, front row. Now I'm not sure whether the ticket policy has changed recently; but I was able to get the "pricier" tickets as a student.
