Yeah, I guess I can see it's historic, but it just seems like there's so many shows vying for this one theatre. I guess because it's the only readily available theater at the moment.
Based on the CD it sounds like Dr. Dollitle was pretty fantastic in London. Even if it wasn't I think I would have at least loved it. But I'm not very found of what eneded up in America. Its reputation here has been destroyed thanks to horrible revisions, the removal of some of the best songs in the score, and a completely misguided advertising campaign. I can't see a commercial Broadway run being successful in the near feature. Even if they resorted to using the original London script version for Broadway I think the word of mouth has killed any chance it had. It's a shame. Updated On: 5/25/06 at 03:28 AM
The Palace is one of the best (if not THE BEST) theatre in NYC. Especially for huge shows. It's in a great location. It has a huge seating capacity. And somehow, it still retains an intimacy when it's needed. Unlike, say, the Gershwin or the Minskoff or the Hilton. For me, the Palace is to Broadway theatres what Carneige Hall is to concert halls. It is a temple.

Plus, its RIGHT IN Times Square, so its a prime spot to put a tourist show.
WHITE CHRISTMAS would be ideal for the Palace.
I think I'd like to catch this production of White Christmas everyone speaks highly of.
Catch it!!! It was the best thing I'd seen in years in SF and will continue to speak highly of it.
Also theres a video preview of it on this site??? Can someone please post the link I can't find it.
