Did they ever release the concept recording of Wildhorn's "Dracula - The Musical"? I know it was recorded and supposed to be released in 2006 but I heard nothing about it after that.
Does anyone know where I can get it?

Me too, actually.
Also, whatever happened to the "Lestat" recording?

Unfortunately, it was not and have no plans to be released as of right now (from Wildhorn Productions themselves have said they simply don't have enough money, nor investors (the show's producers as well for that matter), to put it out, and the record company who planned to release it chose to pull it as well in hopes of not losing money. Similar to LeStat, there are other ways...!
But anyway, you can hear samples of the concept album on the record company's website...I think it's Global Records or something like that I'll search for the link to post too (I believe you can still even pre-order it). However, the German recording of it was recenelty released in June...so look for the German Cast Recording if you're interested in the music itself!!
The next Wildhorn concept to be reportedly released is: The Count of Monte Cristo, which I think is having it's world premiere in Hungary or Austria (I honeslty forget), this October. Don't know if it's in German or English yet, but I have practically confirmed this from Brandi Burkhardt's A Tale of Two Cities bio.
And for the record...Frank Wildhorn always has some crazy punctuation (sp?) thing in some of his shows! Such as Jekyll & HYDE (not so weird), but anyway I always had a fascination that they called it:
"Dracula, the musical"? I dont' know why that must make me weird! LOL

Posted: 8/27/08 at 4:03pmIt's been leaked for years. All you have to do is find someone who has it. It would be pretty pointless for them to release it now.

Yeah, I was about to say.
All you need to do is know where to look for it.

I also just remembered that James Barbour was Dracula I think or another lead and wasn't that the time (2006) when he was charged with his crime? I'm sure that had something to do with it.
--Edit:
If you click on Jeremy Roberts' profile (that Lizzie posted the link to) you can go to that website (which clearly hasn't been updated since 2006) and listen to the clips from Dracula, the musical.'
Also it looks like he listed in a previous post my thoughts about Barbour.

Posted: 8/31/08 at 12:59pmYou know, if you think about it, Frank Wildhorn's kinda getting what he deserves. I mean, I've been lookin' and when it was announced that he wasn't gonna use any of the original cast members for the concept recording, he got a helluva lotta backlash from posters.

Stupidbeans there was no reason to bump this, seeing as you've never posted on this?
Regardless, the concept album was intended to be different. I still am a big fan of Frank's, even though it was a kick-in-the-face to the cast. But if you look at the time when he began it, Frank legitimately needed monetary backing, and had to save as much. He no longer had the connection with Atlantic Records, so him and Jeremey left to begin there own (possibly Mr. Roberts' idea anyway, I don't know the whole story; I'm assuming it has something to do with Linda, especially since this was all at the same time and Roberts was Linda's vocal/music arranger I believe, and he left with Frank) record company, which released it's debut album: Jekyll & HYDE: Ressurection (with the lovely Brandi Burkhardt!), and have two on the "On-Hold" status in Cyrano (which is an awesome demo with Eder + Sills), and Dracula. Count of Monte Cristo (now starring Brandi Burkhardtt as Mercedes) is next, but I don't know if that's Global Vision records either. (I don't even know if Brandi Burkhardt's solo album will be with that label).
I don't think Frank deserves the harsh remarks he gets on here. Honestly, he's a composer whose goal was and still is: Bring the common person back to the theatre with music that sticks enough in your head to become a chart single (
). Go figure that he'd get some Metalheads, Germans, and other random groups into musicals (with Jekyll & HYDE), but a show like Legally Blonde would make even more people return to the theatre. My guess is that he needs to do a more happy (not like Pimpy though!) or a huge twist story (like Jekyll was!), rather than stick the gothic-related stories, which people have their own opinions on regardless of what you put out there. I'm still waiting for Camille Claudel!!!
