Gavin Creel is someone who should be naked all the time, not just on stage!
The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.

I agree with Gavin Creel, Marc Kudisch, Taye Diggs...
*swoon*
I saw "Take Me Out" at the Geffen Playhouse here in Los Angeles. And while I was at first "Holy Sh*t, they are actually naked on stage!", I adjusted to it, and I know as an audience member, hell yes, it contributed to the tension of the show. I was expecting a two-second flash, where as this is real, full frontal.
I couldn't bring myself to go to the stage door afterwards and be like "Hi, can you sign this? I just saw your really tight uh...butt on stage".
And yes, all the men were quite well endowed - and as it's been stated, no complaints from me!

Speaking of endowments:
I only saw the show once, at the Public. The first shower scene left me agog. I mean, they were all quite large.
But the thing that struck me was the noticeable difference in size between everyone else on the team and Frederick Weller. Perhaps it was cold that night.
Or perhaps this was done on purpose. Anybody else notice that?

Shira, same here. I was amazed (and happy) that all of the men in the original Broadway production were all big in the pants too. What are the chances of that? Slim I would think. That had to be one of the considerations for hiring besides acting talent. Unless of course only well endowed actors applied knowing of the full frontal nudity. The small guys probably stayed away from the auditions. LOL

It should be against the law to be good looking AND hung. It just isn't fair!

The first time I saw nudity on stage was the OBC of Love Valour Compassion. I have to say, it was shocking to see full frontal nudity live and in person on a legitimate stage, but I quickly got over it.
It took me a while to get over Nathan Lane's naked ass however.

I would prefer to form my own opinion of Marc K. And size is not the most important thing. From the looks of it, there are other parts I'd enjoy viewing.

Craig Bierko would be a nice addition to a TMO cast as well.

How about Matt Cavenaugh? The best chest on the boards when he was on the boards. Wouldn't mind seeing what else he has to offer!

I agree! If full frontal nudity was that critical to the show, why were the shower scenes at the Geffen Playhose (LA version) played in a circle upstage and the NY production was in a line downstage? Wouldn't it be interesting if someone put on a production two ways in a the same city -- one with nudity and one without? I bet I know which version would sell the most tickets! Come on guys...nudity sells.

Nudity gets the attention of the press as well as the audience. I would bet a large sum that a show with nudity would outsell the same show without it.

The whole issue can be unpredictable. A couple of years ago, an Australian producer announced a production of David Hare's "The Blue Room" starring Elle Macpherson ..NAKED!..in the role that had drawn so much attention when played by the fleetingly nude Nicole Kidman. He pulled the plug three weeks after the bookings opened because absolutely no-one was interested. The public knew Elle was not an actress and wasn't going to buy it. Interestingly, when the show opened recently under a different management featuring local TV names Sigrid Thornton and Marcus Graham, the season sold out every date it played, and this time it was the handsomely proportioned Graham who became the hot ticket. And yet people here stayed away in droves from "Take Me Out", reportedly BECAUSE of the nudity. And it may not be unrelated that Jack O'Brien and Jerry Mitchell's wonderful production of "The Full Monty" closed after only seven weeks. It seems the public is getting its nudity elsewhere!

I do think that the actors involved play a large role in whether a show will sell or not, nudity nothwithstanding. I also think the press latches onto the amount of nudity. It was well known that The Full Monty or The Blue Room only had fleeting nudity and this, coupled with the poor staffing choices, may have impacted sales.

I just read that Danny and Marc Kudish live together - not romantically, but as roommates! How do I get a job as their housekeeper!!
