A lot of people say they don't see it working as a movie. I think it would be hard, but could be done. Someone mentioned once, being kind of in the same vein as "Christmas Carol" where Man In Chair is walking around, no one sees him and whatnot, and it's all in his head, then when he gets brought out of it, he's back in his apartment. I think it could work, you'd just need the right director. That being said, I really just like making movie casts for musicals. lol
Martin Short as Man In Chair
(Although there are so many possibilities: Steve Buscemi, Kevin Kline, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Geoffrey Rush, Dustin Hoffman, Paul Giamatti...)
Sutton Foster as Janet Van De Graaff (This woman needs to transition to film already, and what better way to do it?)
Jason Bateman as Robert (Can he sing?)
Carol Burnett as The Drowsy Chaperone
Nathan Lane as Aldolpho
Mike Myers as George
Betty White as Mrs. Tottendale
Eric Idle as Underling
John Lithgow as Feldzieg
Kristin Chenoweth as Kitty
Brian D'Arcy James & Norbert Leo Butz as The Tall Brothers
Anyone but Queen Latifah as Trix
To me, James Marsden screams Robert. Probably because of Enchanted.
Nathan Lane is far too old for Aldolpho. In fact, Mike Myers would be better as Aldolpho than as George.
I don't see a movie working, but that doesn't stop me from casting it...

Robert - James Marsden

I think Mike would be a great George, because he CAN tap dance. He's never been able to feature it in anything, really. So, I thought he'd be a good fit.
Nathan is a bit too old for Aldolpho, but in my casting, if he's up against Carol Burnett, it kinda works. But I see your point. Mike would be a great Aldolpho aswell. And I like the idea of Seth as Aldolpho.
I already love the 3 names for Drowsy...Carol Burnett, Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand...I think for Drowsy, they need someone like that to play her, a well established name, that almost everyone (if not everyone) knows....Bette Midler is my favourite casted name so far for Drowsy!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is already a film. Why do we need another Producers? It's okay when the film is forgotten by main stream audiences like Reefer Madness, Little Shop of Horrors and even Hairspray, but when a comedy classic is still in people's mind, why do we need another remake? I LOVE DRS, don't get me wrong, I just don't think a movie is needed. Same with Promises, Promises, La Cage, Titanic, Spamalot and The Full Monty.
The rest of those, I'd love to see, though.
Um isn't Cats already a movie?
