WHYYY has the West End never had a production of this please? It would be a big hit with the success of the movie.

Oh many many many many moons ago both the Dominion and the Prince Of wales were measured up by the producers of the original Broadway production.
It never went further than that!

Unbelievable that Korea gets it and the theatre capital of the world doesn't.

Absolutely love the Dreamgirls score. Would love to see it on stage. The movie - though it had its moments - didn't really do it justice.

I think I read a while ago that "Listen" will be in the new US stage production. Great addition to the score!

SADM - I quite enjoyed the movie too - but I thought it could have been so much better. The screenplay was pretty dreadful - the characters were just SO underwritten, especially Deena.

Great movie as a whole but terribly underwritten.

So it's worth downloading then? I saw it today on TSS, and was understandably skeptical.

the NY production is the same one that is in Korea. They are simply re-casting it for the US, where it will play a limited season at the Apollo, followed by a tour (perhaps the other way round...?!).

We really should get it in London!!!!!

It opens at The Apollo Theatre in November for 4 weeks only, 4 weeks only, thats all the time you have!
It couldn't open in a more appropriate venue!
