Posted: 5/22/06 at 5:32pmWell we saw Sutton on a one show day (Sunday) and she didn't come out during LW, perhaps she had something to do, I don't mind we met her at the broadway flea market and she is extremely nice. Bit of a threadjack but i was wondering if Christian Borle normally signs because we saw Spamalot on Saturday and he came out and said hello but didn't sign, he just walked right by. I figured he may have been going to meet Sutton or go see her or something.

Posted: 5/22/06 at 6:00pmI am going to see Drowsy two weeks from Friday (June 9) . Do you think I will have a better chance of Sutton Foster or Beth Leavel coming out of the stage door then?

Posted: 5/22/06 at 6:20pmBeth and Georgia were the only ones I didnt see when I saw it on a Friday evening about 2 weeks ago. Sutton came out...but it took a long time though Im guessing it's not normal as she introduced her high school drama teacher to the 10-15 of us or so waiting at the stage door. She thanked us all for waiting and keeping us bc she had him there. Bob Martin also took a while to come out. I really wanted to see Beth Leavel as she steals the show at some points...but what can you do....

When I saw the show Beth seemed happy to sign, and in no rush to leave. I've found that if you're a kid, or if there are a lot of kids at the stage door, the actors seem more happy to sign. yay for being a kid!

Looks like it to me!
.
When I saw Drowsy I REALLY wanted to meet Bob Martin and tell him that I think he's a genius, but seriously, I had no clue where the heck the stagedoor was. So er...where is it?

Posted: 5/22/06 at 8:34pmIt is next to the Broadway gift shop on 44th Street. It is also next to a support column, so it easy to miss if you are not looking for it.If you reach the hotel driveway, you have gone too far.

Posted: 5/22/06 at 9:14pmI caught the cast preshow, before the last matinee of previews. I got there at 11:30ish. Sutton got there at noon (I see her walking all the time to the theater through Shubert Alley - ironically she and Christian don't go together). Bob got there at 1-ish. The rest of the cast arrived before 1. Georgia doesn't sign before or after the show, if anyone's wondering. Only on occasion will she sign after the show. The rest of the cast is delightful.

Posted: 5/22/06 at 9:25pmThat column has always really bugged me, the fact that there is barley any room to get in, or to wait for the actor, and that the door if I remember correctly, doesn't open all the way.

Posted: 5/22/06 at 10:13pmOh yes, I knew there was something that I didn't like about the door :). But didn't the doorman there recently pass away or something? I remember him being very nice and friendly.

Posted: 5/22/06 at 10:17pmThe cast RUNS out the door unless you ask. Sutton didn't come out when i saw it and that was a SAT. Evening. I have been told she is very gracious and will sign before the show! Hope that helps!

Posted: 5/23/06 at 6:16amSutton definitely tried to escape on Friday night after "Drowsy" she had her hood up and was walking really fast out the door..luckily there was this kid there that spotted her and screamed I LOVE YOU SUTTON FOSTER! and she turned around and was very gracious and caring to us. i mean give her a break, she's doing 8 shows a week. i also got to meet her friend lance...i don't know how she knows him, but i got to meet him
