I've heard that she might do the LA sit-down of Wicked, and that the producers are offering a really great contract.(which is apparently why she turned down Les Mis)

What was she supposedly offered Les Mis wise? I presume Eponine, but god only knows...
"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending.
The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

She leaves Wicked in October. She was offered Fantine in Les Mis, but turned it down for 2 reasons I've heard: not enough $$ and that she wants to do Wicked in La La Land.

Can't believe she turned it down even though it is her dream role..

no matter which role in Le Miz was her dream...it's a terrible shame she turned down a role in the production.

Fantine was her dream role so the story must be Bigger than we know.

people.
first of all, it WAS fantine. secondly, WICKED is a lot of money. third, LES MIZ is LES MIZ. fourth, if she's doing WICKED in LA, she's there for pilot season...

I think going into a Revival of Les is a backward step for anyone.
I know there are few Good parts for actors but Gary Beach and Norm Lewis deserve better.
And Eden can do Elphie and wait for a better vehicle.

Also, I believe her family is from California, so that might have motivated her choice...

if she was offered Fantine and turned it down as apparently the story says, then for once in my life i am very angry with her for making us experience Daphne Rubin-Vega in the role. i'm still bracing myself for her version of I Dreamed a Dream. shoot me now. Eden, how could you?

This production of Les Mis is not a step backwards for anyone, imo. I think it's going to be incredibly successful, and is a very important event to celebrate a great moment in musical theatre.
Apparently her audition for Fantine was sensational, and the production team were going to give her the time to do the other things she has planned. I think she's been incredibly silly, and is just type-casting herself as the girl in green.
