You love it and you know you do.
WOW!! That didn't take long. I doubt White Christmas returns for a third year.
I love the movie, even though I'm not a fan of Will Ferrell or taht Zoey creature who can't act.
This could be a fun show, if done right!
I hope Lea Michele plays ELF!!!!!!!!
I hear she's always wanted to!
And if GLEE is on a holiday break there's no reason she couldn't! OH MY GOD I HOPE THIS HAPPENS!!!
I love this movie, so I'm excited.
I'm not usually one to get excited about holiday shows of this ilk, but ELF was a very charming movie, Sklar/Begueling can write some wonderful tunes, Martin/Meehan are obviously talented, award-winning book writers, and Casey Nicholaw's work is usually delightful. Not having heard any of the material yet, I will withhold judgment, but with the right casting I daresay it could be a great, little show.
I hope they get Zooey to reprise her role!
Is it bad that I am more excited for this than I was for any of the new shows this year?
^^Same boat!
Although I will miss White Christmas a bit, it's being done at Philadelphia's Walnut though!
Who's the set designer?
Based only on the movie, no music or anything like that, I'd love to see Christopher Fitzgerald as the lead. He's got the goofy AND the innocence.
Sadly, Lea Michele won't be available to take the Zooey Deschanel role as I hear she'll be starring in an off-off-Broadway revival of Carrie with Betty Buckley reprising her role as Carrie's mother; Barbra Streisand will be directing. In Lea's place, the love interest will be portrayed by Patti LuPone.

YES. I was just thinking the other day how good he'd be in this role. I have no idea if the producers are going for a star, but if not, I believe there are three Broadway actors right now with the comedic skill to play Buddy: Chris Fitzgerald, Norbert Leo Butz, and Christopher Sieber, and out of those, Fitzgerald really has that necessary innocent quality that you mentioned.
Also, $20 says Jennifer Cody is cast as an elf.
I am tired of screen-to-stage adaptations of movies from recent years, but this is good material to expand on in a musical. Some dramatic weight could be just what Elf would need to go to the next level much like what Big was incapable of doing.

I'll raise you to $50. Lol, if she is in the city, she will be in the show.

"Christian Anderson played Buddy (Farrell's role in the flick), a human-sized man who is raised by Santa's elves on the North Pole and sent to New York to find his real family. George Wendt played Santa Claus, Mark Jacoby Buddy's father, and Beth Leavel his mother."

Any thoughts on this casting, if any of these people are used in the show?
Yero My Hero: HAHAHA!!!!
I think Christopher Fitzgerald would be an excellent Buddy! Hopefully the producers decide to go with an actual Broadway actor instead of a "big name". I definitely think Fitzgerald has the comedic chops to tackle this part.

Ahhhh this is wonderful. Although someone please explain to me why Casey Nicholaw gets to be a Broadway director?

Cause he did a dang good job with Drowsy Chaperone?
I'd prefer Norbert Leo Butz in the role.
Even though he's probably too old for it, I think John Lithgow would be great.
