"Evil Eddie, the bit part demon?"
If there were one little thing I had to say I didn't like, it would be the actor who played that role. (in NY)

Tom Walker's vibrato is crazy...But I liked him. And his moose was great!

The role of Ed Getley is considerably larger in the stage version than it was in the movie.

That's because when he died - he died. He didn't get to sing a song about how unfortunate he is. Sadly.

Does anyone know anything about those ringtones on the (new) Evil Dead website?
Are they clips of the actual songs or MIDI files? I don't want to buy one if I can't play it - my phone can only do the basic phone ring type stuff.
Saw it from the splatter zone in NYC twice - well worth seeing.....

Go see this show. Tremendous fun.
p.s. I can't believe that someone would NOT recognize Sarah Cornell. She's probably the most easily recognizable musical theatre actor in Canada.
I know. I felt stupid later. During the show I just kept thinking that everyone looked really short and it's not how I remember them. Even Ryan Ward looked like he was average height.
Hah Sarah and Michael in The Producers were so hilarious because of the height difference. I just wish she got to belt a bit more in this show.

Reminder to watch, tape, TiVo, etc. EVIL DEAD 2: DEAD BY DAWN.
1:15 AM (10 minutes) - on FLIX
ten minutes? Anyway, thanks for the headsup. Part 2 is my favorite!
Here is the 4-star (out of 4) review from the Toronto Star. Richard Ouzounian has been a fan of the show since Day 1.
[EDIT: This review makes me wonder if it wasn't actually understudy Andrea Irwin that I saw in the Thursday night preview as Cheryl (I thought the Cheryl actress was the standout of the show). She had gone on a few times in the last Toronto run in various parts and was always funny and was able to make any of the roles her own. I had thought the actress on Thursday looked like Andrea (although in the previous run I only saw her from up in the balcony so it's hard to tell) and I don't know what Rachel Fischer looks like. A replacement wasn't announced though...]

I saw this show twice in NYC and I swear I wished I lived in Toronto right now - this is a shame that this show closed so early in NYC, absolute shame! Now, who's gonna get it when I say...."ALL THE MEN IN MY LIFE KEEP GETTING KILLED BY CANDARIAN DEMONS" - definitly worth every penny!
And here's the Sun's 4-star (out of 5) review:

Saw it in its final weeks in NY. I am definitly going to make the trip up to toronto to catch this before I go back to the city, as I'm only about 3 hours away right now. Get out there and support this wonderful musical!
Den...The Sun? Really? You read that crap?
I prefer to read the Jesus pamphlets that they hand out in Dundas Square....and I'm Jewish!

I don't buy it. I just have a folder in Favorites that links to the various arts review pages in town.

Well, you can't please everyone... This one's 2 stars (out of 5)...
For the record, no one calls his girlfriend a “stupid bitch” in this show. The Scott character uses the phrase to refer to Ash’s awkward fifth-wheel younger sister who has come to the cabin for a weekend of reading and baking. Were the relationships too complex for eye's Christopher Hoile to grasp? What a stupid bitch!

The last (I think) notable review of the show. 4 N's (out of 5).
NOW review
Saw the show Tuesday night and add my voice to the growing chorus of "go see it!"
However, Tuesday's performance was marred by major sound glitches with mic's cutting in and out and the mix favouring the band to the point where many of the lyrics were lost. Still, I enjoyed it but was glad they gave me a copy of the OCR in the press kit.
The show has attracted a number of "groupies" including one of my neighbours who shows up in costume complete with chain-say attachment.
I would guess the Friday and Saturday 11 PM shows are quite wild!
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Glad to hear all the praise.
Does the sound at the end of the CR (BLEW THE BITCH AWAY) bother anyone else? When Winslow riffs near the end of the song "That's right you blew..you blew that b*tch away...you blew her to smithereens...you blew her like a drunk teen..."
It worries me that they don't seem ti be fixing their sound problems. I saw the second preview, where they were the only thing bringing down the show...but if they are still going on, thats pretty irresponsible on the producer's part.
