Any chance of Pass Over being a finalist? I love Spike Lee's filming of the Steppenwolf production.

Is it eligible? It was first produced at Steppenwolf in 2017.

Fairview and Slave Play as the finalists with a win for Constitution. I would be utterly shocked if the latter in particular didn't come to fruition (which would also IMO lock up a nom for it as best play).

Downstate, Slave Play, Constitution, and Fairview seem to be the titles coming up the most. I don't know if Constitution is a winner, but should absolutely be a finalist. I loved it, but the Pulitzers tend to go for something a little bigger.

I wouldn’t necessary agree with that. if there’s a really obvious candidate among the big shows, then sure. But I think there are plenty of years when they go for something smaller and less mainstream. And given that Constitution has already transferred to Broadway and gotten lots of attention from the theatre community, I’d say that pushes it more in the direction of “mainstream”

I would not be opposed to that! Unfortunately I think it was a little too divisive and too long ago.

Dance Nation will be the play from this year that will survive the next century the best, but I doubt it will win the Pulitzer.

I don't know, I feel like when comparing the content/ideas and the actual physical size of the play, Constitution could seem "slight" compared to other works. But I'd be thrilled if it won, and the Broadway transfer gives it a leg up. It would also be the third year in a row that the winner was written by a female playwright, which would be a first.
