The other day I was rewatching Easter Parade with Fred Astaire & Judy Garland. I’m even surprised it hasn’t received a stage musical treatment. And I’ve now seen two Irving Berlin movie musicals that successfully were adapted. I first saw Holiday Inn and then White Christmas.

Yeah but White Christmas is a remake of Holiday Inn.

I actually think the stage version of White Christmas is better than the movie

There was a workshop years ago (pre covid) of this with Sheridan Smith in London. It was under development with Sonia Friedman, I think. But nothing seemed to come from it

You have to remember- the demographic that knows what Easter Parade is and would enjoy it, is dwindling in 2025.
White Christmas has become a holiday staple and the song itself is iconic enough to grab people.

Easter Parade was almost on Broadway with Tommy Tune but it closed out of town when Tune had an injury.
