"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
Any more roles played by Idina Menzel that Ms. Espinosa would like to tackle (this is her 3rd)? Perhaps she can do Wild Party and See What I Wanna See in stock.
I had purchased a ticket for the February 21st matinee. Needless to say, I panicked when Edin was announced to open on March 6th. I called Telecharge and Customer Service explained that my ticket was still valid and that the March 6th date referred to the official opening and that the February 21st preview would go on as scheduled. If I subsequently hear different, I will post accordingly.

You might want to get right back on the phone with Telecharge, Ed. They've updated their site to reflect a new first preview date of March 6. There is no performance on February 21.
Eden as Sheila sounds great. Doesn't she sing "Easy to be Hard?" Can't wait to hear her sing that! I had tickets for the opening night....my first ever. I hope I'll be able to exchange for the new opening night. I wonder what the "special gift" will be.

Adamgreer, thanks for the advice. I called Telecharge for the 3rd time today and they seemed to have gotten their act together. Performances do start March 5 (or is it 6?); they refunded my February 21st ticket and now I'm going on March 14th evening. It will be double-header for me that day (Blithe Spirit in the afternoon), but, hopefully everything will be in place. And WHY can't Telecharge be kept abreast of things -- since they're the ticket vendors, they above all people should be the ones to have accurate information. GRRRR.
i guess they aren't selling opening night tickets anymore? they updated the ticket dates like you said but there's nothing for march 31st which i belive is the opening date right?

I don't know, there was something about Sheila being much younger that really worked for me. I mean, I didn't love Caren Lyn Manuel, but her youth was definitely working. I don't know that it will work as well with Espinosa.
Same with Gavin Creel- I think he's a bit too old for the role, and it won't be as effective as a result.
i am so excited and happy for ms eden (she will be great) and i am more than thrilled that HAIR is really happening. i think it is important for all of us to remember how hard times are for the broadway community. it is wonderful that we all have our opinions, but i think that now more than ever we as the fans of broadway need to be supportive of all the shows that are lucky enough to be happening. sorry for the rant, i know it doesnt really have to do with this thread, but lately i have seen so many catty comments, i just felt the need to spread some love and encourage everyone to remain positive. i think we can all help broadway stay alive longer that way. CANT WAIT TO SEE THE SHOW!!!!! and maybe meet you guys at the SD :)

Opening night is in fact the 31st, and tickets do not appear to be onsale for that night, which is odd since they sold tickets to the original opening. Perhaps they're waiting until they give out all of their comps to people involved in the show, then they'll release what's left?
I sure hope that they do...I bought 2 tickets for the opening night when it was supposed to be March 5th. I've never been to an opening night performance, so was very much looking forward to being there. I took a vacation day off from work so as to be able to get there by 6:45 pm.

How many times are they going to change the first preview date? I thought they bumped it up due to demand in ticket sales and now they bumped it back a month? Weird.
Got my ticket for first preview March 6th row D orchestra

December 19th- Noises Off, Edith Piaf Concert at Town Hall
Julie Reiber was Eden's standby in Wicked LA. She thought she would be promoted when Eden left but they brought in Broadway understudy Caissie Levy instead. Julie was also on the short list to play Sheila but she got passed up for Eden.
