Rumor is that NBC will be doing a live production of the opera, next December. Thoughts?

On the Wikipedia page for the show, it says:

 

 

"Pop super-star, Ariana Grande is set to star in a live production of the opera. It will air in December of 2016 on NBC."

 

 

Where in the world did we get this information?

Not really a reliable source, but I saw people on IMDB talking about it.

I mean, I would be ecstatic. I've been really wanting Ariana to return to stage work. Do you think it would be the live musical that year?

I would hope that it isn't THE live production for next year. Maybe this will just be a live concert type thing?

I'm 95% skeptical, but Ariana is a huge name, and she just did an opera duet with Andrea Bocelli that went number one on the Billboard charts, so I really wouldn't be surprised if it's in talks.

You should be 100% skeptical, because if you google Einstein on the Beach you'll see the news isn't being reported by any news website. Just because Ariana Grande sang a song in Italian doesn't make her an opera singer.

I think I believed it for maybe half a second. Thankfully the recent tour was recorded (it works better on a television than you'd expect) and will presumably be coming out on blu-ray along with the Kickstarter documentary "The Earth Moves" sooner than later. Still, maybe if we get Lady Gaga in on it...

Very familiar with "Einstein On the Beach". Completely believe Grande could pull it off.
