Elaine Stritch, Rose's Turn

Why is she still "performing"? Her voice has been gone for years. Ditto: Liza.

Isn't that the same thing she word to record the Company album?

Elaine Stritch, Rose's Turn

At least she actually remembered the words, although she seems to insert the dramatic lead-in right into the middle of the song. I can even forgive her for using Roz / Lisa's key. It's a hint of what might have been, too late for what could be.

Elaine Stritch, Rose's Turn

I think this clip is (at least) a couple of years old. She did some small performances at colleges a few years ago, and this clip seems like it was from that time.

Her Rose probably would been akin to Tyne Daly's - incredibly forceful in person, and unimpressive on a recording. It's a shame it never happened.

Elaine Stritch, Rose's Turn

I never really thought she had a "great" voice. I always thought the draw for everyone was her presence.
If you don't mind taking it as it turns out, it's a fine, fine LIFE!

Is she in a classroom? I like to think she just goes to random classes and performs her cabaret act!
