Posted: 4/4/12 at 11:42amHow is Elena Roger at the stage door of Evita. Im seeing the show on Saturday night, and would love to get her autograph. I really could care less about Ricky Martin, but meeting Elena would be awesome.

She's so dang sweet. She takes pictures with everyone who asks and talks and talks and will sign anything.
And yeah about 90% of the crowd leaves when Ricky does so there's no sort of mob to get to her.

Bring a copy of something she sang on but is not Evita-related and she may scream with delight! She truly was very sweet and it was nice to not to have to deal with thousands of people to get an autograph or picture.

Posted: 4/4/12 at 12:02pmWas there Friday night- I have never seen anything like the stage door for Evita- the crowd was across the street and under the Minskoff trying to get a peak at Ricky- Michael came out 1st, then Elena, then Ricky- by the time he came out she was a third of the way through the crowd and the crowd was ridiculous! She was so sweet and she is SO tiny. Lots of pushing and shoving, so be prepared especially if they should come out in that order and she hasn't gotten to you yet, because most of the people out there when I was there were there for him and they were manic!

Posted: 4/4/12 at 12:38pmI'm so disappointed! I saw it on a Wednesday matinee and I knew that her alternate was performing that night so I waited an hour and a half, she never came out so I decided to leave. Shame, I would have loved to have met her.

Yeah, I dislike that but what can ya do? I remember when "A Steady Rain" was playing" and the sidewalk on both sides of the street were thick with people. You couldn't even walk on the sidewalk - you had to walk in the street to get around the crowds. And even that was stop and go. At one point I had to stop walking because the people in front of me had stopped so a woman on the sidewalk started screaming at me that she had been there first and I couldn't stand there. It was intense! All I wanted to do was walk by

The same BS happened with Zeta-Jones in NIGHT MUSIC. Do people actually care that much about seeing a star? Like, just being able to say, "I caught a glance at (Celebrity's name here)!" Really? Have we sunk that low?
I find it much better to approach someone and thank them for the years of enjoyment they've given me-- and it's usually not Ricky Martin, nice and talented as he may be.

Actually I wanted to thank Ricky for being such a great positive role model for LGBT youths. He shook my hand (hard) and thanked me for that and gave me a hug. Really really really nice guy.

Posted: 4/4/12 at 11:23pmI was leaving a different show Saturday night and happened upon the Evita stage door. I assumed Ricky hadn't come out yet as there was still a sizable crowd. They said he had and didn't sign for anyone (but they might not have called him - as if he doesn't know what they're there for!), but plenty of people were waiting on Elena.

Went this Friday and it couldn't have been better to meet Elena at the stage door - Ricky left really quick and the crowd thinned out; she came out after about an hour. The trick of bringing or mentioning something non-Evita related worked - for a reason unbeknownst to me she made a beeline to my Playbill through a sea of other people with Playbills screaming for her. I told her how I loved her Mina Che Cosa Sei show and that I forgot the DVD for her to autograph and she screamed and hugged me. She couldn't have been sweeter and I got a wonderful picture. She sounded like an Italian Minnie Mouse when she asked me, Where did you buy it? and I said Ebay. She said, Hah? and then signed my Playbill. Success!!

Posted: 4/15/12 at 11:35pmI saw Evita on Saturday the 14th. After Ricky left, there were only about 15 waiting for Elena and Cerveris. She came out about and hour and a half after the show and by that time there were only 7 other people waiting for her. Most of the others got tired of waiting, I guess. But she was so sweet! I hugged her and took a few pictures with her. She's a really incredible person.
