Unless Spamalot rises to the occasion! I see it 2/19, so if my critique is of any value, I'll report back then.

Would he be up for best actor, or best featured actor?

Butz would defnitely be up for Best Actor, no doubt along with John Lithgow.

The probable Tony battle this year is making my heart break already.

Mine too, but how wonderful to have a year with what appears to be so many incredible shows and performances! The year of the original musical is back - revivals taking a back seat.

I think the only way that I won't consume ten pints of ice cream should Raúl be nominated and not win would be if he lost to Norbert.

Can't believe I'm actually excited about seeing him in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in April - they should just give the Tony to everyone this year :)

Was Norbert nominated for Thou Shalt Not?

Raúl needs a Tony. The end. Last year, when Michael Cerveris won, I literally ran to my freezer and ate an entire pint of ice cream. Me? Weird? Nah...
Roll on, CHITTY!
At least it'll be an exciting year!

I'm taking 25 high school students to our first trip to NY. They wanted to see Wicked, but I pursuaded them to see DRS. Very glad I did. By the way, what's the standard of dress for a show like this? And will they get to meet this cast afterward at stage door? Thanks in advance for pointers.

They can dress casually. I went in jeans. I mean, don't go in your pajamas, but there's no need to get dressed up.
I went to the stage door after a matinee, when there was a night show after. Norbert and John came out - John signed a few autographs and wasn't terribly friendly, but Norbert was great. Signed, took pictures... he's really friendly. Your students will almost certainly get to meet him. Sherie and Joanna didn't come out, but if it were the last performance of the day they probably would've. Sherie is very, very nice. Gregory Jbara is also a sweetheart.

Now just imagine an orginal musical starring Butz, Esparza, Joanna Gleason and Chenowith!!
Nowadays there's really no dress code - be comfortable!

*eyes fall out of head*
Can we throw another favourite guy of mine in there, just for kicks, Tony deserving-ness aside?

I love you a little bit, Emcee.
For my money, I want Norbert to win. Unfortunately, and I think you will all agree, that the likelihood of someone outside of the cast of Spamelot winning are slim and none.

I love you a lot, bwaysinger!
And, yeah. I think the Spamalot cast is going to beat both Norbert and Raul, should they both get nominated. I won't stop crossing my fingers for them until the day of, because I'm just a happy idiot.

I know...but I want Raúl to win SO bad!
Edit: But on the other hand, I adore Norbert! He is hysterical.
But on the other hand, Tim Curry is a legend and should be treated as such.
Again I say-Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

We don't even know if Raul's going to get nominated. Something tells me he might get screwed out of it, because Chitty's sounding like such a commercial show.

Let's hope they take into consideration more of the performance than the commercialness of the show - who knows, Chitty could actually be better than anticipated - yeah right :)
