Emily Skinner is one of my favorite actresses, I was wondering how long she was going to be on the Billy Elliot tour? Is she just playing in Chicago?? Also, for anyone who has seen her as Mrs. Wilkinson, is she good in the role?
I think she's in the Chicago production through December. I heard that she may be going into the Broadway production after that, but I have not seen that confirmed in any media outlet.
"Why do you care what people might say? Why try to fit into their design?" (Side Show)
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
So Emily and Kate would basically be switching spots?
The recent Mrs. Wilkinsons have really been amazing. On broadway, Kate Hennig runs the show ever night in her role and she always gives it her all. I've seen her quite a few times, and even one time she was clearly not feeling well, she sang the score as well as possible. And Emily Skinner is great, playing the character differently, yet still amazing!
Chenofan: you think Skinner is in Billy in Chicago through December? Does this mean you think Billy is in Chicago through December? Do you have anything to back this claim up?
You can view the website for Billy Elliot or broadway in chicago's website and it says that it is in Chicago until I believe Jan. 15, 2011 after that it goes to Canada, so that company and the touring company must be different productions!
@taylorPHENOMENON2 I'm assuming that's the casting for the 2nd national tour because it's my understanding that the majority of the Chicago cast will continue with the 1st national tour.
I talked to Emily after a concert she did in Maryland in May. She said she was moving to NYC around the first of the year to do the role on Broadway. I'm excited because I saw her in Chicago and she was fantastic!

Yes. But Tommy Batchelor and Keean Johnson will be leaving the Chicago company soon.
I'd love to re-visit the show with Emily Skinner in it, I can only imagine how great she is in the role. I've seen Gwynne and Henning, obviously Gwynne was fantastic but Henning was also pretty good.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Bitchy comment aside, have you seen her lately? She's dropped a ton of weight and looks fabulous.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
