I still don't have tickets to this and I really don't know what to do. Thompson looks marvelous from what little I've seen, and I really don't want to miss her. But last year, Nathan Gunn's atrocious Billy Bigelow ruined what should have been a pretty perfect production of Carousel for me, and I really don't want that to happen again.
"I have two tickets to sell..."
Stick with them PJ - I'm looking forward to reading your opinion of this.
I saw the Terfel/Friedman concert live and, whilst I may have reservations about it (and I'll save them until after the forthcoming performance), Terfel sung the role magnificently, bringing out the full beauty of Sondheim's music in a way that lesser singers cannot. I'll be lucky if I hear his rendition of Pretty Women (along with the equally magnificent Philip Quast as Judge Turpin) bettered.

Oh, I'm still going!
I just had to switch my night from Friday to Wednesday because of another commitment. My Wednesday tickets are not quote as good as the Friday tickets, so someone is going to get some nice front-row seats, (albeit in the second ring).
was looking at tickets for this and the only seats that remain are the $215+ seats in the orchestra & first tier. any chance these seats might be reduced if they still remain the day of performances??
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!! It will be my first show that I'm going to like this (celebrity/limited engagement show).
FYI - I just received an email from NY Phil telling me that 'great seats' have just been released for this.
Probably true, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg.
I'm flying in for this. I cannot wait.
I've never seen a good production of Sweeney Todd before, despite it being my favourite show, so I'm ridiculously excited! Do we ever have BWW meet-ups? It seems like an appropriate time, lol.
Despite the casting of the wooden Welshman, I'm extremely jealous of you lot getting to see Emma Thompson and hear this score played by the magnificent NY Phil.
Will this be on TV?
