Interesting. I have a real love/hate relationship with this play, but a mostly hate/hate relationship with Pinter. I hope Raul's accent is good.

I'm most interested to know who's going to play Ruth - guess that hasn't been cast yet. If that role's not perfectly cast, the play makes even less sense.

Very excited for this one. Big fan of both McShane and Esparza.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Hm...if this is running in March I might have to see it. It sounds interesting enough.

This is exciting that we won't have to wait too long for Esparza to be in another show.

I love Raul and I look forward to seeing him back in a straight play. My main concern is, of course, The Cort. That theatre is so awful. I kind of wish some musical would open there and become a big hit (like the next JERSEY BOYS or WICKED) so we wouldn't have to count the days until the demise of the next play that is to open there. I mean, plays in general have trouble filling seats the way it is. But to be in that location, with that balcony, is just a death sentence.

That was one of the first things I thought when I heard about this -- it sucks that it's at the Cort. re: Esparza to Return to Broadway in The Homecoming; McKean, Too

Excellent! Since we're Roundbaout subscribers, I guess we already have tickets!

Go Raul!

This is a commercial mounting, isn't it?

I'm excited for this!

Why is the Cort such an undersired theatre?

Ken, I don't think this show is part of the subscription package. Sorry.

It might be, since there is "one more exciting production to be announced"......

7-Play SUMMER 07
The critically-acclaimed Broadway revival of OLD ACQUAINTANCE
Rosie Perez and Keven Chamberlin in Terrence McNally's THE RITZ
Stephen Sondheim's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE
Claire Danes and Jefferson Mays in Shaw's PYGMALION
the American Premiere of J.T. Rogers' THE OVERWHELMING
a Broadway revival of LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES
and one more exciting production to be announced.

But The Cort isn't a Roundabout house.

And that exciting production is probably a musical, as they only have one musical listed.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

The 7th production will be whatever is at the American Airlines in the January-April slot. It still hasn't been announced.

True, but the Broadwayworld.com article links to Roundabout for further information.... Maybe a mistake? Maybe the link is for the 1991 revival that Roundabout did?

Called Roundabout - they know nothing of it - guess I'll be buying tickets then!

The press release said that it is a private production. The interesting thing about the play is that it has a six member cast, that really operates as an ensemble. Raul's role is a little more showy, but really no bigger or important than the other five family members. A key ingredient in the revival's success will depend on who is cast as the sole woman in the play, the wife of the third brother who returns to the house he was brought up in. As far as the Cort goes, I have always liked their second balcony, the sightlines are very good.

Johnny, the "curse" refers to the poor location, which has been doom to a lot of shows there. It's kind of isolated, and one of the few Broadway theaters that's actually East of Broadway.

I read the play yesterday. I loved it, and it made me really curious to know who will complete the cast. Anyone hear anything?

I was kind of hoping for his next role to be an original one... but I hope I get to see this one.
