I cried at the beginning of Brooklyn's overture.
...oh wait.
Yes, every time I see a show, which is hardly ever. It's because I can't believe it's actually happening!
CATS. I know, I know... but I was about 15 years old and had been waiting SO SO long to see it. It was the first "mainstream" musical which I seriously followed and became enthralled with at the age of 13. To finally be at the Winter Garden and having amazing seats at the end of one of the ramps (the Rum Tum Tugger- Stephen Bienskie- danced with my mom) was an absolute thrill. Also got sentimental because I was seeing it for the first time in New York and it was closing about two weeks after I saw it.

The overtures to "Oklahoma!", "The King and I", "My Fair Lady", "Camelot" and "Gypsy" get me all the time. I cried throughout the entire overture at Bernadette Peters final performance of "Gypsy".

I almost cried after clamming the trumpet solo in the Gypsy overture. It was even worse that night, because the press was there.
And it got mentioned in one of the reviews. Ouch.

I never do, but I can imagine losing control if I get to see 'My Fair Lady' and hearing the overture played live.
i do it all the time i get just so overwelmed....i cried in the opening notes of good morning baltimore in Hairspray. LOL
The first time I saw Les Mis on broadway. I was a mess. I've loved the show since I was 7, and finally seeing it was the most amazing thing.
And..yes..Wicked. Chills, tears, the whole works.
I'm seeing Light in the Piazza in a week. So I'll get back to you on that one...
I am yet another person who cried during the beginning of Wicked. Actually I cried through pretty much the whole first act because it was my first broadway show and I couldn't believe I was finally there (I was 25)
Oh and the opening of Titanic makes me cry everytime I listen to it. And I cried through the whole opening of Ragtime yesterday. I'm tend to be very emotional

Many overtures have made me cry.
The Lincoln Center CAROUSEL - when the music swells and the actual carousel appears before our eyes by magic - it is overwhelming.
I only saw The Light in the Piazza once but when I listen to my iPod and hear the first notes of the overture/Passeggiata I tear a bit.
I get chills for The Advantages of Living in the Middle of the Sea too.

I got chills during Wicked, because it was a long road getting there. My school was gonna see it with our Drama Club when our advisor who had been battling cancer for awhile was forced to leave and later died. I got to see Wicked on my 16th bday which was very special for me... so I didnt cry, I felt like it but I didnt... I got chills.

I had to wipe away a tear the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time at Piazza. And when I returned to Caroline, or Change...Tonya's humming. Updated On: 6/27/05 at 12:16 AM
