I don't "regret" seeing one show over another--but there are several shows I regretted not seeing while I was in NYC and had the chance.
In January 1999 I was in NYC and missed out on seeing
Parade, a show I didn't know much about then, but adore now. Since the show only ran for a short time it has always bugged me that I was there during the run and missed it. During that same time I really wanted to see Martin Short in
Little Me but couldn't convince the friend I was traveling with to see it.
The other show I regret not seeing was
Bat Boy while it was playing off-broadway in 2001. I decided to go with
Tick, Tick, Boom instead--which I also loved--and figured I would catch
Bat Boy when I was back in NYC in October. Well...as we all know
Bat Boy was not playing in early October 2001 due to the tragic events one month earlier.
