I don't "regret" seeing one show over another--but there are several shows I regretted not seeing while I was in NYC and had the chance.

In January 1999 I was in NYC and missed out on seeing Parade, a show I didn't know much about then, but adore now. Since the show only ran for a short time it has always bugged me that I was there during the run and missed it. During that same time I really wanted to see Martin Short in Little Me but couldn't convince the friend I was traveling with to see it.

The other show I regret not seeing was Bat Boy while it was playing off-broadway in 2001. I decided to go with Tick, Tick, Boom instead--which I also loved--and figured I would catch Bat Boy when I was back in NYC in October. Well...as we all know Bat Boy was not playing in early October 2001 due to the tragic events one month earlier.

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

My sister and mom regretted seeing Assassins instead of Rent with my dad and I. They also regretted seeing The Dead, period. They said if there was an intermission in either of those shows, they would have left.
