Gaveston2, I'm happy to report that absolutely everything you said above is completely wrong.
Anyone can be bored by anything. I am bored by FOLLIES. Hopefully in person, I won't be.
Trying to be cool? I'm 45 and a show queen who looks like a defensive tackle. I can't even try.
Hates musical theatre? Yes, that's why I spent my youth defending it against my jock friends at great peril to my reputation. I used to spend the interval between two a day football practices in high school in a bubble bath listening to the OBC of THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS.
"Idiot" most certainly does not refer to AMERICAN IDIOT. I don't like that show either. It refers to something in my professional life that would too easily identify me here -- the one place on the internet that I prefer to remain anonymous. It's also what I call my hound dog when he does something cute, which is often.
(Insert raspberry noise here.)

Mutual Fascination either sounds like a porno or a Sondheim song.
Or a desperate remix of a song by The Human League.
Broadway needs a Human League jukebox musical.

So who was there? What happened? Did anyone cry at the end? Who took home the show curtain?
It was a great show. Not too much to say. Very enthusiastic audience, as expected.
WHO'S THAT WOMAN? received a standing ovation, and White was visibily touched.
One noteworthy moment was during Sally and Buddy's exit. This time, Burstein actually put his arms around Bernadette, and they embraced.
Berndaette gave the speech. She was definitely touched. Sondheim was there, but didn't come on stage as he did at the closings of GYPSY and NIGHT MUSIC. Tunick was also in the audience.
Definitely a great closing. I will really miss this production!

And I think Jordan Catalano and Idiot also put their arms around each other and embraced.

I see Follies was on TKTS today.
Very exciting show today due mostly to the energy and enthusiasm of the audience; thunderous applause after every song with a wonderful standing ovation for Terri White, who started to cry onstage. The final moment between Sally and Buddy - well Bernadette and Danny - was so touching! It was overall an ordinary performance as nothing was changed, but the energy was electric.
Was Bernadette the only one who gave a speech? What did she say?
Yes, Bernadette gave the curtain speech. The first person she thanked was Sondheim. She thanked the producers, the director the writer and mentioned that there were 41 people in the company and 28 musicians - something that Broadway doesn't really have anymore.
She said everyone was so touched by the love that NYC has given the show since it moved from DC, and said that everyone is going to LA. She didn't mention that she wasn't, but for the most part everyone is going to LA.
Regine, who played Solange in the DC production was a few rows in front of me, and I saw Rebecca Luker before the show started at at intermission.
It was an amazing afternoon. The show was fantastic and there was such emotion, such raw emotion from everyone at today's performance.
Excellent! I'm glad the cast had a good closing show.
When do you think the next revival of Follies will be?
When the Olsen twins are old enough to play Sally and Phyllis. Right after their revival of OVER HERE!
Lea Michele can play Carlotta.
No doubt she'll still be here.
Is Nick Jonas more of a Buddy or a Ben?
Buddy would be Justin Beiber and Ben would be Nick Jonas.
In all seriousness, I think we could get another Follies revival the same year we get a Phantom revival.
Kevin the waiter. At any age.
