I spent the extra $60 to get them last week. I waited to the middle of the week and got 2 of the last center orchestra seats for the performance I am going to. (and the 2 seats are not together but its the best I could get). It was worth it--so looking forward to this show. Good luck to all ordering today, there were very limited seats left when I got mine on Weds. or Thurs.
Anyone know if rows R & S orch are good?

Posted: 1/30/11 at 10:41amAre those in Orch B? I believe I sat in S for South Pacific, it was good, they are a little raised so that people's heads aren't completely in the way.

Posted: 1/30/11 at 11:24amdepends on when you're going. June is a lot more open than May.

Posted: 1/30/11 at 11:26amIs it a complete pipe dream to be looking for tickets for a weekend performance? I don't live in DC so that's really the only time I can go because I'm in school and I can't miss class. :/

Posted: 1/30/11 at 11:29am^ You should be fine. Weekend performances are are still available, but they are limited. Don't get your hopes up for the $45 seats though. I saw some left for weekend performances as of last night, but mostly in June.

Posted: 1/30/11 at 11:34amYay, good! No $45 tickets is fine though, I figured those would be sold out but since I'm traveling to see it I'd rather sit closer anyway.

I keep getting a busy signal.
Edited to add: Oh, after fifteen minutes of calling, I'm on hold! Woot! No luck with the website yet.

Yay just got my tickets for May 28, row Q of the orchestra! I was only on hold on the phone for about 15 minutes, so I'd recommend doing that as opposed to the website since that's still dead.
masb, did you call the 800 number or the 202? I got a busy signal with the 800 number but I called the 202 since I was on a cell phone and got through immediately.

Keep trying - you'll eventually get into a waiting room. The page updates each minutes telling you how many folks are in front of you. I had ~80 ahead of me and it took about 30 minutes to get in and complete my order.
In my opinion it is a great system - it keeps the system from crashing - so that when you finally get in you get to complete your purchase. Lincoln Center should take a lesson.
BTW - very few performances were marked with Limited Availability. It got second row balcony for 5/27.

I was alternating the two, actually.
I just got my tickets! Row B balcony to the 5/28 1:30 show! Way to the right, but I'd tried a few dates already and didn't want to push my luck.

Posted: 1/30/11 at 12:48pmI just kept refreshing and then it took me to a "waiting room" screen where it said 88 patrons were in line ahead of me. That quickly went down to 20 in about 10 minutes and I was able to choose my dates and browse around a bit. Got my tickets for the first row of the balcony on Wednesday, May 18th!

Posted: 1/30/11 at 12:56pmI got in after a bit of a wait and nabbed Row A Balcony for $45 - same seat I had for MERRILY in 2002 (so I know it's fine stage view.) Easy. And they STILL had my address and info on file from 2002. Amazing.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Posted: 1/30/11 at 12:57pmGot my ticket! Orchestra Row M on May 25th. The notice posted above scared me so did being in the waiting room with 250 people ahead of me in line. But it all worked out. I thought the system worked very well considering. The Kennedy Center makes it much easier than Ticketmaster or Telecharge for those who can be flexible about dates as you don't have to back the whole way out or keep entering captcha codes.

The waiting room went rather quickly for me, once I made it in. It went from 176 people ahead in line, down to 88 in five minutes, and then almost immediately through into the website.
Masb19872, I must have been around the same time as you! I snagged Row B balcony seats 112 and 113.

Well, my mom just got tickets for May 14, PM show. I got the last seat in Balcony Row B (31) and my mom, aunt and uncle got 3 seats in the 3rd row.
Who's excited?!

Posted: 1/30/11 at 1:07pmI got on to the website immediately for some reason and had no trouble purchasing my tickets. I got Center Orchestra row E seats 104 and 105!

Posted: 1/30/11 at 11:03pmThe site crashed quickly and both numbers were busy, but I was eventually able to get row E in the orchestra and row A in the balcony for the two (Saturday in June) performances I'm seeing! I'm so excited!
