Victoria Clark and Donna Murphy were fantastic. Two Tony winners showing their A game. The Men ,while very well cast, were majorly weak in comparison.

Can someone explain to me what the exclamatory "lovee" means in this circumstance?

Agreed on the men. Women were on top of their game. Men, good, but not great. Granted it is a staged reading, and all actors had their scripts at points, but Victor Garber had his the whole time and when he didnt have it in the finale number of the show, he forgot the words a couple of times and had to ask the conductor what the words were. Very interesting.

That's part of the breakdown isn't it? Don't all Ben's do that?
Garber did not forget the lyrics. He didn't drop the baton by mistkae either. That was all part of what "Live, Laugh,Love" is about, not much longer after that he breaks down. By the way, he was brilliant during this number, and his cry of help to Phyllis was one of the highlights of the night. Plus, he had an incredible chemistry with Murphy, their scenes together got the most reaction from the audience.
Enough with this "lovee" thing already!
It's lacks the gravitas befitting FOLLIES.
I always will remember the original Follies at the Winter Garden
This show deserves the definitive version with a first rate cast & needs to be preserved on film
As the saying goes "If wishes were horses etc etc".
One can fantasize
Yes, I went today about an hour and a half before curtain and got a rear orchestra seat. It isn't sold out.
