Are they still holding back a certain number of tickets for rush for each performance, even when the performance is sold out (as was reported on this board about a month ago)?
And how long before the 1:00 or 6:00 ticket availability time do you have to get in line to have a good shot at a ticket? Specifically wondering about on a weekend, in this case for the Sunday matinee.
Yes, I believe they are still holding back 16 tickets for Fun Home. For a matinee, I would get there by about 11:30 or 12. (I got there at 12:20 on a recent Sunday and was eleventh on line. Not good.) For an evening performance, 3 p.m. Two per person, cash only, $20 each.
You'll be fine. Tickets go on-sale at 1pm for 3pm matinees, and 6pm for 8pm shows. There is no set amount (where'd you get 16?). They sell what they have. In fact, "Fun Home" sold 70 rush tickets just the other day (granted, it was pre-Xmas, so everyone was outta town).
They sell student tickets in advance (at box office only, with current ID), but I don't know what that costs.
I read somewhere that 16 tickets for each performance are set aside for general rush. If I can find a link, I'll edit it in. Also, if there are unsold seats, I imagine those would be sold as rush too.
