Hey,
I have a question concerning FALSETTOS. Was there ever a recording made of FALSETTOS? I know that both MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS and FALSETTOLAND were recorded. I have them both, but I don't know which order they go in...
HELP.
March then Fallsettoland.
Thank you very much.
There never was one made, and though it was pretty close to the originals, there were a few revisions. Hopefully one day they'll release one.

Here's the history.
First there was "In Trousers". That was recorded.
Then there was "March of the Falsettos". that was recorded.
Then came "Falsettoland" that was recorded.
Then "March..." and "Falsettoland..." with the addition of "I'm Breaking Down" from "In Trousers" were put together and taken to Broadway as "Falsettos".
They made a 2 CD package of March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland when Falsettos opened. The song I'm Breaking Down was not on it because it was originally added to In Trousers in LA. It is available on Allison Fraser's CD.
Although Falsettos is very close to the originals, one can't really say that those CD's put together is Falsettos. The Broadway production had quite a few lyric changes, additions and new segments - wish they could record Falsettos as it opened on Broadway.
I believe LA Theatre works did a concert version with most of the origianl cast whhich was broadcast live (On radio) and available as an audio download.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

"Trina's Song" was one of the most extensively rewritten numbers, and the revised version should be on the Make Me a Song album.
(that's still happening, right?)
"I'm Breaking Down" from Allison Frasier's CD is available as a "Bonus Track" on the latest re-issue of William Finn's "In Trousers"
He was talking about Trina's Song , not I'm Breaking Down.
