What is your favorite Bernadette Peters cast recording? Mine are DAMES AT SEA, GEORGE M!, INTO THE WOODS and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. Wish I could add SONG AND DANCE to the list, but her voice didn't seem quite right in that recording.
Pity CURLEY McDIMPLE was never recorded.
I think Into The Woods is probably my favorite.
I think Mack & Mabel. Good as the ladies are on the other two recordings, I just think Bernadette has 'em all beat.
Love them all.
But I would have to say GYPSY is my favorite. I've dreamt of hearing her sing that score, and seeing it live was a dream come true.
So glad to have that show preserved.
For me it's a tie between MACK & MABEL and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.
Definitely Gypsy, I'm actually listening to it right now. The 2003 Gypsy revival was the first show I ever saw on Broadway so I have a special attachment to this recording, and her performance was so haunting, after seeing her perform Rose's Turn I sort of decided to be a playwright just because I was able to see how beautiful and at the same time disturbing a scene on stage can be. After Gypsy, I'd say Sunday in the Park with George, she goes through so many emotions starting with the funny and yet sometimes sad opening number and ending with one of the most beautiful love songs in musical theater "Move On."
I have to say Into the Woods and Gypsy are my favorites.
"Mack & Mabel" and "Song & Dance" for me please.

Each and every one of them!!!!
Into the Woods.
Has to be DAMES AT SEA.And worst...SONG AND DANCE, the accent ugh.
Does she sing all the songs in Song & Dance or only the first act?

Choosing your favorite Bernie CR is like having to choose your favorite child. What a Sophie's Choice.
I might be unconventional and go for the 2003 Gypsy Revival. It is everything I have wanted in Gypsy for years (plus like 'Gypsy' is my second favorite musical).
The first act of SONG AND DANCE is all sung, by one actress. The second act is all dance.
Into the Woods and Gypsy
Wow, that sounds like an unconventional piece, was Bernadette in the second act at all? No wonder this show has not been revived.
Yes, she was briefly in the second act and even danced a bit but the second act is primarily about Joe, one of Emma's loves, and how he deals with his life after he loses her.
Into the Woods, though Bernie's "Look what happened to Mabel" tops my all-time favorite showtunes.
SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.
I love them all!
But my top 5 is:
1. Sunday in the Park with George
2. Mack and Mabel
3. Goodbye Girl
4. Into the Woods
5. Song and Dance
Sunday...no question...

#1 - Sunday in the park...
2 - Mack & Mabel
3- Song & Dance
4- Into the Woods
Though I enjoy the rest, they don't seem to hit my CD player as often as these 4. These also happened prior to her getting the huskier tones in her voice (AGYG/Gypsy).

I was originally going to say SONG & DANCE, then I read other's post and totally forgot about SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, so I have to say now SUNDAY IN THE PARK...But you can't not love Bernadette!
I sooo had forgotten about "Annie Get Your Gun," although it's not as great as Gypsy or her Sondheim shows, I could listen to her version of "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun" 20000 times and still love it and love her!
