I just received the cast recording in the mail today. I must say that this is an amazing score! I am not that "into" it yet, but I am getting there. The show seems like it would be so much better live. Am I right?
Anyways, what is your favorite song(s)? Mine are:
1. I Hate The Bus
2. Salty Teardrops
3. JFK

I love pretty much all of the melodies that are written for Emmie - especially "I Hate The Bus", "I Saw Three Ships", the "Epilogue" - and Anika performs them so beautifully...
I also LOVE the entire opening - "16 Feet Below Sea Level", "The Radio", "Laundry Finish"..... - the Radio girls, Capathia Jenkins, and Chuck Cooper have such fantastic voices..

It is probably pretty expensive to buy the whole musical.

The best song is the curtain call with the finale in second place and the song before the finale in third place.

J., wanna send me a PM about the curtain call, just incase it contains spoilers.
I was kidding I've never seen the show or heard any music other than the Tony Awards tragedy with that woman.

Oh, that's ashame. It is an amazing score.
J, I am hoping that calling her 'that woman' doesn't mean that you don't know who Tonya Pinkins is.
I did not know that was her name. I have not seen the show. She's not a commercial celebrity either do I think it's okay that I did not know hwo she was when I saw her on the Tonys.
J. do you have many friends?

Oh, I'm ashamed to say that I only saw the show therefore, sorry, I don't know the song titles.

I love all the songs previously mentioned, plus "Underwater", I think is what it is called...the song Caroline sings at the very very end right before the Epilogue. Tonya sounds beautiful, and it is one of the most moving moments I think, especially the lines:
"Noah,
Some day we'll talk again,
But there's things we'll never say.
That sorrow deep inside you,
It inside me, too
And it never go away..."
I Hate the Bus is my personal favorite.
Yes I have plenty of frinds and why does everyone react so stangely to my posts? I'm not mean anymore. I didn't know her name so I said "that woman" and everyone knew who I was talking about. I don't know all these poeple as well as you guys and I'm sorry. I love it when people crack jokes about WICKED or Lloyd Webber shows. Broadwayguy's smart alleck replies are my favorite!
