What is your favorite dance break from a non-dancing orientated show (by dancing-oriented, I mean shows like Movin' Out, 42nd Street, and West Side Story, shows that feature dance)?
Mine would have to be the Bottle Dance and the dance that follows it in Fiddler.
is oklahoma considered "dancing oriented?" well if not, I LOVE the dream ballet. I love both the original and revival's choreography

does the rent la vie boheme scene count?
"dancing thru life" wicked
"hardwork"-fame on 42nd street(or just the entire show)
hmmm..
The incredibly long dance breaks in THE MUSIC MAN, in the middle of both "76 Trombones" and "Marian the Librarian." I had the pleasure of playing Tommy Djilas and being able to dance during those breaks and also co-choreograph them, and it was such a great experience. Other favorites:
42ND STREET, obviously
The dance between La Fleur and Guido in NINE
42nd street should count, cuz I mean...all the dances are incredible!

God, I love Go Into Your Dance dance break!
the dance break in "out for blood" in the beginning of act 2 of Carrie
Nice, WithoutATrace.
I'd have to say (not sure if this counts as a non-dance oriented show) the dance breaks in the revival of Kiss Me Kate for Too Darn Hot and Tom, Dick or Harry (the prior more so than the latter) literally had me sitting there with my jaw on the floor. They were both RIDICULOUSLY long and just went you think there's no way these people can keep dancing any longer, they go and kick it up like, 2 notches.
Amazing stuff. Yay for Kathleen Marshall - biiiiig fan of her choreography! :)
All time fav: "Shall We Dance" from The King and I
The entire Wedding Dance sequence after 'Sunrise, Sunset' in Fiddler

The dance break mentioned on the 1991 Tony Awards for "Mama Will Provide" from Once on this Island was just added for the Tony Awards performance. It utilized some choreography that occurred later in the show, but "Mama Will Provide" was not performed with that dance break in the actual show (or at such a fast tempo).
