OK. What actor does the best Elphaba? I live in Chicago and have seen Anna 4 times (and have met her three times) and I think she is amazing! Don't get me wrong, I do like Idina, but I think Anna is better.

If you are a Wicked fan, the following message board may be of interest to you:

http://unexamined-life.com/forums/index.php

They talk about a lot of things Wicked related, and in general, have far more patience and enthusiasm for Wicked-related threads than this Board will.

But, to answer your question - Stephanie or Idina.

it's just that this topic has been posted before...numerous times.

there's a search button above the board. there's also one in the right top corner. and to your left. if you type in a keyword such as elphaba, it will search the site and give you results from past threads. that way there don't have to be repeats.

if you're new you should also read the guidlines. they're very helpful and informative.

We should rename this the "No Good Deed goes Unpunished" thread...

"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"

We all know that theatrical life does not begin and end with Wicked, but for many it has been their introduction to our art form in recent times.

Why not encourage theatrical interest in whatever form?

Also, for someone who is so clearly against Wicked threads and proclaims that there IS life after wicked, then praytell...

Why on earth is YOUR own screen name "Elphaba"? Care to explain your paradox my friend?

I rest my case.

"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

Stage_Door, I have often wondered that myself.

I also agree with you about Wicked exposing a lot of people to theatre. When I was that age (maybe a little younger, I was 12), I saw my first Broadway show. The show I saw was Rent, I saw the original cast. For months all I did was eat, sleep, and breathe Rent. Now I love all types of theatre, and I'm planning to work in the music industry. Had I not been exposed to theatre by Rent, who knows what I'd be doing with my life right now.

That's an awesome story meagan! It warms my heart :)

Also, thank-you for substantiating my point a little further.

There you go folks, a real life example.

A small side note: IF YOU DON'T LIKE 'WICKED' THREADS, DON'T READ THEM. pure and simple.
