All the beautiful girls of "Beautiful Girls". By the time I saw FOLLIES in 1972, the parade included Jan Clayton and Terry Saunders. Both were also in "Who's That Woman?". Talk about the idea of presenting the remembered past on stage! Pure Rodgers and Hammerstein heaven!
David Hyde Pierce in Curtains. The silhouette was so awesome with the fog!
ABSOLUTELY Christine Colgate's first entrance in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS....that and the number that followed were musical theatre magic!
And although I do not really remember her entrance, Katie Finneran's expertly timed exit in PROMISES, PROMISES will be something that never leaves me. 100% perfection.
Neither of those needed fog, a big set piece, a hydrolic lift, special lighting, ....it was all just skill and staging. THAT is my kind of theatre.
