Thrilling theatre moments/twists

Absolutely those final 15 minutes of JERUSALEM. Really the final act made me sob (both times I saw it) from the slow dance through the end of the play, but the end was unbelievable.

**Spoilers**

When he's pounding on the drum and all of a sudden you can hear the wind and start to see the trees move. Then the distant rumbling getting louder and louder and then a black out... Just the ambiguity of whether it was the demolition trucks or he summoned the giants. I had chills!

Favorite Entrances?

The Princess - "La Bete"

Rooster, Lee, and Phaedra - "Jerusalem"

Cyrano - "Cyrano de Bergerac"

Mama Rose - "Gypsy"

Roger De Bris (as Hitler) - "The Producers"

Freddy Benson - "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"

Finch (Daniel Radcliffe) - "How to Succeed"

C.C. Baxter (Sean Hayes) - "Promises, Promises"

Scenes You'll Never Forget

Some from this current season...

Jerusalem ->
-Rooster making himself a drink
-The entire section with Rooster and Phaedra (his monologue, the goldfish, the dance) through him re-emerging from the trailer. I cried both times during that part and still can't listen to the song without tearing up.
-The last 10-15 minutes of the play

La Bete ->
-Valere's monologue and Elomiere's (David Hyde Pierce) facial expressions

The Normal Heart ->
-N

Favorite Sondheim Song

Best All-Around Song: "Marry Me A Little" - Company (though it changes frequently)
Best Collaborative Song: "Somewhere" - West Side Story
Best Angry or Bitter Song: "Your Fault" - Into The Woods OR "Epiphany" - Sweeney Todd
Best Hopeful or Reassuring Song: "No One Is Alone" - Into The Woods
Best Inspirational or Influential Song: "Something's Coming" - West Side Story
Best Male Solo: "Being Alive" - Company
Best Female Solo: "Rose's Turn" - Gypsy
Best Duet or Trio:

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 13

Definitely "Overture" - Promises, Promises. It really sets up the style and sound of the show.

I'd also say that "Prelude" - Next to Normal is pretty damn incredible.

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 12

"Marry Me A Little" - Company
Favorite Moment of 2011 Season

Hands Down -> JERUSALEM: The entire production - from the sounds of the forrest when you walk in, to the blackout at the end, and most of all Mark Rylance's stunning performance as Johnny 'Rooster' Byron! Listening to a clip of "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" on iTunes the next day almost brought me to tears.

Also

LA BETE: Again, Mark Rylance and his 30 minute monologue (and the applause that followed). Plus, Elomiere's (David Hyde Pierce) facial expressions, reactions and

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 11

Although it would REALLY be Into The Woods, I will abstain and say...

"Bring Him Home" - Les Miserables (The first time one of the 80s "Mega-Musicals" really got me. I'd seen POTO before and loved it, but it didn't affect me the way Les Mis did.)

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 10

"I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here" - Annie (actually, that's the only song I like from the show)
The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 9

"Ever After" - Into The Woods

but since I'll probably overuse Into the Woods in these threads

"Goodbye Love" - RENT

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 8

"The Impossible Dream" - Brian Stokes Mitchell (Man of La Mancha)

AND although it's not a stage musical, "Through Heaven's Eyes" from The Prince of Egypt (the first time I'd ever heard his voice and was hooked!)

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 7

"We Do Not Belong Together" - Bernadette Peters (Sunday in the Park With George)
The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 6

"No One Is Alone" - Into the Woods

"The Next Ten Minutes" - The Last 5 Years

The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 5

"Promises, Promises" - Promises, Promises
The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 4

"Defying Gravity" - Wicked
The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 3

Absolutely agree --> "Another National Anthem" - Assassins
The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 2

"Live in Living Color" - Catch Me If You Can
The 30 Day Musical Theatre Song Challenge - DAY 1

"Your Fault" - Into The Woods (I'm fairly confident that it was the first musical I saw live, and even if it wasn't, I wore out our VHS tape of the PBS special with the original cast...)
Changes to 'Working'

"Just A Housewife" is in the newest version of the show (or at least the production that was at Asolo Rep/ The Old Globe)
Does ANGELS IN AMERICA have rush, student, or any other discounts?

January 30th is the final performance for Robin Bartlett, Robin Weigert, Zoe Kazan, Christian Borle and Zachary Quinto.
