Julianne looked beautiful and sounded great, the same goes for Vanessa...who also was amazing in GIGI!

Carly Rae and Vanessa were standouts as leads, the whole supporting cast was amazing.

They/them. "Get up the nerve to be all you deserve to be."

I said this elsewhere, but I loved Aaron, Keke, Vanessa, Carly Rae, and Julianne (my fellow Utahn).

Aaron and Julianne were great both together and individually, and I'd pay good money to see them star in a full-on revival of the show. I was particularly fond of Julianne's 2 renditions of "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee" (both the short Reprise and the long Reprise), both of which are sadly absent from the cast recording I found on Spotify.

Vanessa absolutely killed it as Rizzo, especially in light of the personal tragedy she'd experienced less than 24 hours ago, and has made that role her own forever as far as I'm concerned. Her versions of "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" and "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" will definitely be getting worn out on the cast recording.

I've liked the song "Freddy, My Love" on the previous recordings of the show that I've heard, (the film and the 2007 Broadway Revival), but the way Keke sang the song here, coupled with the staging, really endeared it to me even more.

I loved Carly Rae's acting performance as Frenchy, but wasn't all that enamored with the new song they wrote for her. Still, she killed it with the acting, so she gets rave reviews from me anyway.

Marty is supposed to be the sophisticated, refined girl in the group. I enjoyed Keke's performance but it had nothing to do with the character of Marty. But maybe characterization is less important when you're doing a movie remake then when your doing a Broadway musical.

Marty was supposed to be the refined girl from the group? Since when? Marty as originally written is supposed to be vampish and the Marilyn Monroe wannabe of The Pink Ladies.

Keke did the role much justice.

Marty was not originally written as vampish. She's the only girl with a serious boyfreind - in the srevice, no less - and she is more mature than the other girls because she's not boy-crazy.

Ummm...no Wilmington...The character as written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey is that she IS boy crazy....and Freddy is just ONE of many boys she writes to in the military. The scene where she is flipping through the pictures of all her boyfriends is indicative of that and the line describing her as a one woman USO is also indicative of that. She also has "Sonny" as her hometown boyfriend and flirts her ass off with Vince Fontaine at the dance.

Seriously, what show were you watching?!!?
