I'll say Norbert Leo Butz in Rent. I was fortunate enough to see him as Mark, Roger, Steve and Paul in Rent.

jeremy kushnier in rent. he was unbelievable as roger. no one before him or since he left will come close to his performance. he was truly exceptional.

Really? I thought Toni Braxton was awful in "Aida."
Come to think of it I didn't like her as a replacement in "Beauty and the Beast" either.
I expected to like her both times because I think she's a great talent. She just has yet to prove herself to me on the Broadway stage...
