I'm starting to think that I am the only person who saw Boyd Gaines.

Oh! That reminds me WonderBoy, definitely Molly Ringwald and Neil Patrick Harris in Cabaret! That was excellent... wish I could have seen Raul though... re: Favorite Replacement

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

re: Favorite Replacement

I'd go along with picking Barrett Foa in "Avenue Q" too.

And, even though it technically isn't a "replacement", Jarrod Emick in the Patrick Wilson role in "The Full Monty" in London.

And perhaps best of all - Larry Kert for Dean Jones in "Company".

re: Favorite Replacement

Lordy yes, how could I forget ----

I agree with Notabb...and have to definitely include on my list not only Larry Kert for Dean Jones in Company...but Clow for Gaines in the Roundabout revival of Company.

Having seen so many Bobbys through the years around the world from Dean Jones onward, I'd put Clow on the top of the list (with Barrowman and Kert a close second - despite my personal affection for both of them).

Clow captured the youthful confusion and ambiguity of Bobby better than any of the others I have seen - and his final exit up the stairs with a wistful yet relieved one-last-look backwards at "the friends" below he was leaving behind... in one brief moment....totally defines the resolution for Bobby. With a look like that, there was no need to rewrite, rethink, and revise the part (as was done in London and subsequently).
