Epilogue from Caroline, or Change: Emmie, hand-in-hand with her brothers, in the middle of an empty stage. We see Emmie in a way that we have not seen her all evening as she sings:
"Down to Larry and Emmie and Jackie and Joe.
The children of Caroline Thibodeax"
That image and those words were the most moving for me in 40 years of theatre-going.
