I cannot believe I have missed these all these years. Especially, Ragtime. My wife and I saw this together on with national tour company (we have the playbill), but neither us remembered it.
Nine. I've heard so many people say that they loved it, so I got it the other day, and it's pretty much all that I've been listening to. Updated On: 7/23/06 at 07:29 PM
I bought the movie Hair, and now I want to buy the OBC cd. I love the music and the movie.
I'm also starting to get into Sweeney Todd a little bit. Thanks to Manoel Felciano's "Not While I'm Around", I can't get the song out of my head! Updated On: 7/23/06 at 07:32 PM
Someone on one of the boards once asked for a recomendation on a song, and there was a response with a link, so I went to check out the site and fell in love with the whole thing. It hasn't been to Broadway (yet?). The show? Piece: a new musical. If you haven't yet, check it out: piecethemusical.com
Awesome. Can't believe it eluded me for so long :)
Also, basically almost any musical I come across at the library, when I (finally) get around to listening to them. Usually at least one recording every six months or so will blow me away. For instance, 6 months ago, it was Ragtime. A year ago, Bare. Love it.

Aida... I basically ignored it while on Broadway and tour. Saw a local production a few months ago, and I fell in love with the music/story. I can see why it's not a major Disney hit, but I still enjoy it.
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?
Gypsy. I just saw a production at the Maryland Arts Festival on Thursday night and loved it. Even though I have heard many of the songs from the show on Sirius, seeing the production is a totally different experience. It was not what I expected it to be, but so much better.

Passion is my recent discovery. I've known the name forever, known it was a Sondheim piece, etc....but I could have cared less about even knowing the plot until about 3 weeks ago. Ever since then - it's pretty much all I've listened to, and I've watched the DVD more than I care to admit.
I am in a Dreamgirls near hysteria. I bought the LP awhile ago because I knew of the show and I heard how amazing it was. Just recently I actually listened to it and was blown away. So excitied for the movie. But would have loved to have seen at least the concert (which has been blaring non-stop at my house).
Once on this Island...I bought the CD not knowing anything about the show except that it was Ahrens and Flaherty, and I absolutely love it. I can't wait to see a performance of it.

Last Five Years The Wild Party (off bdway) The original cast of RENT Bare
basically, I'm bummed I didn't discover seeing broadway or off broadway shows until well into my college years...so now I'm trying to make up for lost time:)
"Hey Joey McIntyre, is there a balcony in Madison Square Garden? Joey knows his venues a little better than me. That's okay...I have a bigger part on broadway...:)" -Idina Menzel
I just saw a local production of Seussical where my friend played Horton. I really enjoyed it. Not to thread jack, but does anyone know if in the original production the characters actually resembeled animals, because they did in this production.

The choosing was not...

The Wiz. I had the movie soundtrack, but didn't enjoy too much, but bought this because it was on sale, and I love it so much!
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
Myths and Hymns by Adam Guettel. Still getting used to it, but a few of the songs really stick out as great. "Icarus" is one of them! I swear, Adam Guettel is a musical genius. Him and Jason Robert Brown.
