Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better with Bernadette Peters is just awesome!
I also love Susan Egan singing anything - Cabaret, Nothing, etc. I could go on forever.
And does my (pathetic) rendition of Gimme Gimme count? Just checking .

Yes, definitely Peters' "Being Alive". Also her rendition of "Unexpected Song".
Lea Salonga's "On My Own" has become, for me, the definitive version.
I also love Judi Dench's "Send in the Clowns".
Colm Wilkinson's "Music of the Night" is much, much better than Crawford's.

Dominique Roy's Out Tonight. Much better diction than Daphne Rubin-Vega, and I love her voice. I also actually believed she was nineteen.
mostly anything done by Audra on either of her first two albums.
Matt Bogart - Proud Lady/Being Alive
Jason Graae - Applause
Bernadette - Being Alive
Billy Porter - And I'm Telling You...
Norm Lewis - With So Little To Be Sure Of/Who Could Be Blue?
Lillias White - I Am Changing

count me in on Bernie's Being Alive!
Michael Ball's "You'll Never Walk Alone"
Ooooh, also Michael Ball's "Losing My Mind". It's stunning. I've always felt the song should be done by a man.
Bernadette's 'Being Alive'
Dorothy Loudon's 'You Could Drive a Person Crazy/ Losing My Mind'
George Hearn's SWEENEY TODD
Nathan Lane's 'Comedy Tonight'
Liza Minnelli's 'Some People'
Mandy Patinkin's 'Something's Coming' (Don't ask me why?)
Topol's 'If I Were a Rich Man'
BSM and Marin Mazzie's KISS ME, KATE
Bernadette's 'Not A Day Goes By'
And though it is certaintly not better than Garland's, I like Patinkin's 'Over the Rainbow' more than anybody's rendetion but hers
Patti Labelle - Over The Rainbow

Blue Wizard--didn't Bernadette sing Unexpected Song originally? In Song and Dance?
I second all the Bernadette songs, esp. Broadway Baby.
Linda Eder's Impossible Dream
Priest-a few comments.
When did Mandy sing Something's Coming and WHERE can I listen to it?!?!
Absolutely agree with Hearn, Bernadette (both), and BSM and Marin.
I prefer Somewhat Overindulgent to Mandy's Over the Rainbow.
"I'll emphasise most every word, and twitter like a little bird, to prove...I'm...HAAAP-PYYY. someWHERE O-ver the rainbow, watch me cry! Are you watching me cry, mother???"
He sang 'Something's Coming' on his album EXPERIMENT.
My brother just named our dog Mandy.
The dog is female, but still.
Every time I see that dog I'm going to HAVE to start singing The Day Off.
Oooh nice...
